There were celebrations at McCarthy Stone’s Casterbridge Court which was officially opened by members of the Thomas Hardy Society…

There was cause for celebration last week as members of the Thomas Hardy Society, Dr Tracy Hayes and Mrs Dee Tolfree, paid a visit to officially open Casterbridge Court – the latest development from the leading manager and developer of retirement communities, McCarthy Stone.

The Society’s secretary, Dr Tracy Hayes and Society member, Mrs Dee Tolfree, were joined by Dorchester retirees and the McCarthy Stone team to perform a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Retirement Living development on London Road.

Dr Tracy Hayes comments: “We were delighted to be invited to the opening of Casterbridge Court. I’m really impressed by the new development, and it’s been lovely to meet some of the retirees who will be calling the wonderful Casterbridge Court their new home.

“It’s clear everyone values the quality of life afforded by their surroundings and the freedom of having a range of services on their doorstep, the development is a great addition to the local area.”

Verity McKay, divisional marketing manager for McCarthy Stone Southern, says: “We were thrilled to continue our relationship with the Thomas Hardy Society and welcome them to celebrate the opening of Casterbridge Court. The Society has been around for over 50 years and is an integral part of our local community, so we thought it was only fitting we celebrate this important milestone for McCarthy Stone with them.

“We are committed to delivering an exceptional lifestyle that offers all the home comforts for a relaxing retirement, along with a choice of social and leisure activities right on the doorstep. Casterbridge Court has fast become a thriving community of retirees looking to live their retirement to the full and we urge anyone interested in joining us to get in touch now.”

Casterbridge Court Retirement Living development has been exclusively designed for an independent lifestyle for the over 60s. It offers beautiful, landscaped gardens and a courtyard area, and a hotel-style guest suite which offers a home for family and friends, Casterbridge Court provides an ideal downsizing option for retirees and features.

For those who want to purchase outright, prices start from £250,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £379,000 for a two-bedroom.
