Keith OsborneDavid Wilson Homes is welcoming house-hunters in Oxfordshire and Berkshire to events at two of its sites this weekend.
In Abingdon on Saturday 15 October, the housebuilder is hosting an open house event at its Abbey Fields development from 10.00am to 4.00pm. Prospective homebuyers will be able to take a tour of the brand new four-bedroom ‘Ashington’ style home (currently selling from £579,000) at the development off Bailey Crescent, which has been designed with growing families in mind.
David Wilson Homes is offering an exclusive deal at the event where anyone who reserves a home on the day will receive £12,000 towards their energy bills.
The housebuilder has also just announced the extension of its Key Worker Deposit Boost scheme, where buyers meeting the eligibility criteria will be entitled to a deposit contribution of £750 for every £25,000 spent, and can receive up to the value of £15,000. So, for example, when purchasing a £265,995 home, David Wilson Homes would contribute £7,980 towards the deposit.
Emma Hawkins, sales director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “We understand the real difficulties people are facing at the moment with the increases in energy prices, and as leading developers we want to help out as best as we can. This fantastic deal provides new homebuyers with the opportunity to have their heating, electricity and water bills paid for 12 months up to £12,000.
“We’d like to encourage anyone looking to buy a new home in Abingdon to come along and have a chat with one of our expert sales advisers, who will be able to answer any questions potential buyers may have.”
David Wilson Homes’ Abbey Fields development offers residents the best of both town and country living, with the likes of Abbey Meadows, Radley Lakes, Millets Farm and the Pendon Museum nearby. The thriving town of Abingdon benefits from a number of local restaurants, shops and pubs and Oxford city centre is just a few miles away.
Families with children moving into the area can choose from a range of high performing primary and secondary schools, as well as Abingdon and Witney College being located close by for older teens.

In Berkshire, the housebuilder is hosting a ‘Dusty Boot Day’ event for house-hunters at its Donnington Heights development in Newbury this Saturday 15 October from 10.00am to 3.00pm.
The event gives those looking to buy a home in the area the exclusive opportunity to put on a hard hat and hi-vis jacket, before taking a tour of up to three of the developer’s most sought-after homes in their early completion stages. Prospective buyers will be able to view the three-bedroom ‘Kennett’, the four-bedroom ‘Ingleby’ and the five-bedroom ‘Manning’ style homes at the development, situated off Bastion Street.
The ‘Kennett’ is currently available from £499,000 and has an exclusive deal which offers homebuyers up to £10,000 towards their energy bills. The ‘Ingleby’ is a detached home with a garage and parking for up to three cars, currently on the market for £540,000, including an upgraded kitchen and flooring worth over £10,000. The five-bedroom ‘Manning’ is available from £871,950 and has four double bedrooms with en suites, a study and a double detached garage with parking spaces for four cars. This property includes over £25,000 worth of extras including kitchen and flooring upgrades, as well as a £15,000 Stamp Duty contribution.
All three of the homes available to view at the event are ready for residents to move in ahead of Christmas.
Emma Hawkins commented: “This weekend is an excellent opportunity for Berkshire property seekers to come and view the wide range of homes we are currently building on site. Being able to view a home during the earlier stages of its construction enables future residents to really connect with their new home and enjoy keeping track of its progress throughout each phase of the building process. The event is free of charge, with a number of our expert advisers on hand throughout the day to answer any questions potential homebuyers may have, and we look forward to meeting anyone who attends on Saturday.”
Donnington Heights is located on the edge of Newbury town, where residents can make use of the excellent shopping and food facilities the area has to offer. For families with children, there are a number of highly rated schools nearby including Trinity Secondary School which has been rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The development is conveniently positioned with direct access to the A339, enabling quick access to neighbouring Reading and Basingstoke for those who commute.
