Part Buy-Part Rent Available In Huntingdon

Posted 7 December 2020 by Keith Osborne

The advantages of homeownership are available on a modest budget at a major Cambridgeshire development...

Crest Nicholson has a number of apartments at the growing Alconbury Weald community near Huntingdon which are available on a part buy-part rent basis – perfect for first-time buyers on a limited budget.

The housebuilder operates the Home Reach initiative, in partnership with heylo, which provides the opportunity to purchase 50% of the new home and pay rent on the rest, with heylo the landlord. This means that a much smaller deposit is required, and a much smaller mortgage, so those with modest savings and income can take a first step on the property ladder. It’s cheaper than renting and there’s an opportunity to purchase a greater share at a later date. The buyer can decorate and personalise their home, to the and has the flexibility to sell and move at any point.

The scheme is available on properties at Wellington House, which comprises a contemporary selection of one- and two-bedroom apartments. The homes are ideal for first-time buyers with prices starting at £90,000 for a 50% share.

Karen Coulson, sales and marketing director at Crest Nicholson Eastern, commented: “The introduction of Home Reach at our Alconbury Weald development is already proving popular. It’s an ideal option for first time buyers that need an additional helping hand to get onto the property ladder, as you don’t need to save up a hefty deposit – you can buy with a deposit of as little as £4,500. We’d urge anyone who wants to find out more to get in touch with our friendly sales executives at Alconbury Weald.”

Alconbury WealdSurrounded by hundreds of acres of open space, residents at Alconbury Weald will have access to a range of existing amenities, including a brand new primary school, café, gym and cricket pavilion. Building work for a secondary school is also currently underway, with an anticipated opening date of September 2023/2024. Alongside various shops and services, there will also be new health and community centres, with one million sq ft of business space already completed.

A series of cycle and walking routes throughout the development provide connectivity for those keen to enjoy an active lifestyle. For residents looking to travel or commute to nearby hubs, the development is within easy reach of the A1 and A14. This provides easy access to the Cambridge Guided Busway which offers links to Huntingdon, St. Ives and Cambridge. Huntingdon station is also just a 15-minute drive from the development, offering trains to London King‘s Cross within an hour.

All apartments at Wellington House at Alconbury Weald are available to purchase on the Home Reach scheme, with 50% ownership starting at £90,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and at £104,500 for a two-bedroom apartment. The homes will be ready to move into Summer 2021.

A Guide To Part Buy Part Rent
With Home Reach you buy a share of your chosen newly built home and pay a monthly rent on the part you don’t buy. Your budget will decide the size of the share you buy, rather than the size of your home. So, you might decide to buy a bigger share of a lower priced home or a smaller share of a more expensive home.
