Keith OsborneThis weekend, on Saturday 14 October, City & Country will launch a new two-bedroom show home at its Factory No.1 development in the heart of Bedminster, Bristol.
This site offers a combination of new build and conversion one- and two-bedroom apartments and is located on the site of the former Imperial Tobacco Company factory. It’s proven extremely popular with first-time buyers, with over 60% of recent buyers falling into this category.
Michael Burt, head of sales at City & Country, said: “Being able to envisage yourself living within the space is paramount when purchasing your first home. We are excited to welcome everyone to the show home launch this weekend and to provide a first-hand taste of what life has to offer here in bustling Bedminster.”
Comprising 42 homes rising to nine storeys with spectacular views over the city skyline, The Cutting Room, named after a stage in the tobacco factory process, is the tallest building constructed by WhatHouse? Award-winning City & Country to date. Released ahead of schedule due to demand at Factory No.1, the new build apartments are already over 75% sold. The 752-sq-ft show apartment has an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area with the kitchen featuring the juxtaposition of white stone worktops and contrasting wood-effect cabinets, with top specification integrated SMEG appliances.
The principal bedroom, complete with an en suite shower room and fitted wardrobes, is styled with a luxury upholstered headboard, a gold and rattan dressing table and chic gold accessories that represent the hallmark of sophistication. The second bedroom is equally spacious and features a contemporary piece of artwork with gold and copper tones bringing an opulent feel to the apartment. The floor-to-ceiling windows in every room maximise incoming sunlight, whilst the private balcony offers further space.
Clementine Hillman, interior designer at City & Country, said: “When designing the new show home in The Cutting Room at Factory No.1, it was important to capture the industrial past of the former Imperial Tobacco Company through carefully selected accents, darker moody hues and neutral colour palettes. We added warmth throughout the home using dark natural woods, such as the wenge finish dining table. The bedrooms are plush, boutique spaces, crafted with comfort in mind, whilst the living space is airy and inviting.
“This show home is the perfect mediation of the past and the present, respecting the heritage of the development, whilst creating a space that suits a variety of homebuyers’ needs.”
Residents can relax amid the lawns, terraces and trees of the peaceful landscaped gardens, whilst entry to the development is via secure gated entry systems with undercroft car parking also provided to selected homes. A concierge is also available to handle day-to-day needs for residents. Located in a prime investment area of Bedminster, the apartments are a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads railway station and the city centre.
The Factory No.1 sales suite and show homes are open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm, with a range of incentives available on selected one- and two-bedroom apartments. Prices start at £320,000 for a one-bedroom new build apartment in The Cutting Room, and £250,000 for a one-bedroom converted apartment in Regent House.
