First-Time Buyer Event At Bristol Site This Weekend

Keith OsborneFirst-time buyers are invited to an exclusive event to encourage them to purchase their first home, taking place at City & Country’s Factory No. 1 development from 10.00am until 4.00pm on Saturday 20 January.
Visitors to the free-to-attend event will discover the financial incentives on offer on selected plots at Factory No.1, such as a 5% deposit contribution towards their transition from the rental market and onto the property ladder. Located on the site of the former Imperial Tobacco Factory, this development consists of a collection of conversion and new build apartments.
Natasha Callaghan, senior marketing manager at Factory No. 1 said: “Factory No.1 is an extremely popular development amongst our first-time buyer market, with many young buyers eager to tap into the heritage of the area and purchase a conversion apartment.
“Bristol residents benefit from the buzz and connectivity of an up-and-coming city, which is why it has long been regarded as the ‘new London’. However, house prices are often a lot cheaper than London, so it’s clear to see why our Factory No.1 development has been so popular.”
Fiona Harris, mortgage advisor at FLH Mortgage Services, will be on hand to answer questions about purchasing your first home and offering valuable insights on how to navigate lending expectations in the current market.
She said: "Bristol is a terrific destination for young homebuyers who want to enjoy the benefits of city-centre living. With mortgage rates set to drop in 2024, the year has begun with good news for these first-time buyers. When buying a property like an apartment, such as the ones at Factory No.1, some lenders are willing to take on those with a smaller deposit of just 5-10%, rather than the standard 15-20%. This can make it easier for people to move onto the property ladder, and out of the rental market."
City & Country’s newest show home at the WhatHouse? Award-winning Factory No.1 development launches this weekend too. 64 Regent House is situated on the third floor of a Grade II-listed Edwardian Baroque-style building, originally designed by Sir Frank Wills, and now comprising 70 converted apartments. The sensitively restored, 452-sq-ft one-bedroom apartment has been restored with a high specification throughout, with an open-plan kitchen, living and dining space, separate utility space and fitted wardrobes. This third-floor property is priced at £270,000.
Clementine Collins, interior designer at City & Country said: “When designing this apartment, we opted for subtle blue tones in the living spaces, tied together with lots of cool-toned abstract artwork. The bedroom has quite a sumptuous feel to it with the tall, padded headboard. The whole apartment has a modern twist, which nicely balances with its historic roots.”
Residents of Factory No.1 benefit from peaceful landscaped gardens as well as a balcony or terrace in many homes. As a secure gated development, residents have access to a 12-hour concierge service to assist in day-to-day needs. Undercroft car parking is also available on selected homes.
Only a five-minute walk from Bedminster train station and 15 minutes from Bristol’s Temple Meads station, the development is perfectly placed and fits well into Bedminster’s rich cultural setting, with North Street’s array of independent bars, shops, and restaurants just a short walk away.
City & Country's conversion homes start at £250,000. The Factory No.1 sales suite and show homes are open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Find out more.
