Show Home Duo Updated At Jackton Development
Cala Homes (West) has updated a duo of show homes at its Sequoia Meadows development in Jackton, as well as two show apartments. With a focus on staying local, visitors can uncover some hidden local gems among the new interior finishes.
The Kennedy and Darroch show homes at Sequoia Meadows, which first launched in March last year, have had chic new makeovers. Both show homes not only have striking contemporary décor, expertly designed by Alison Harding at AMW Designs, they also now feature local brands from Jackton and the wider East Kilbride area as the development becomes the first in the region to adopt the homebuilder’s ‘Showhome of Support’ initiative.
A touch of locality has also been added to both the one- and two-bedroom show apartments, showcasing the space and ways to dress the homes.
A major influence in the show homes’ new upgrades was Cala’s partnership with independent, local retailers as part of its ‘Showhome of Support’ initiative, where show home items are sourced from businesses in the area. The brand new scheme aims to add a personal touch of the surrounding areas to the style of the properties, and signposts where in the local area these items originated in a bid to support local talent.

The five-bedroom Kennedy show home features sage green and soft greys layered throughout the home to create a warm and inviting ambience, reflecting the surrounding countryside. This colour palette can be found in the living room which features aged wood furniture, a taupe coloured sofa with matching armchairs and a modern fireplace which is the centerpiece of the room. Local flavour is added with two deer globe candles from Bailey & Tibbs featuring proudly in the lounge.
While in the spacious open-plan kitchen, dining and family area, trendy touches such as a beautiful vase and decorative twigs sit on the breakfast bar of the kitchen sourced from local home décor brand, The Top Drawer.
The second of the show homes at Sequoia Meadows, the Darroch, also features tastes of the local community in the fifth bedroom, showcased in the style of a nursery with an animal theme at the heart of the design. Purchasers visiting the showhome will spot soft LED lights adorning the cot as well as two soft toys from Sibling4, located in Eaglesham.

In the spacious family bathroom are beautifully scented candles, a diffuser and wax melts from the popular Pretty Little Things boutique in East Kilbride.
Throughout the two show apartments, prospective buyers will spot other local items such as artwork from Jackton Art, décor from John Dick & Son and Chimes Gift Boutique, as well as well-known RAER gin from its Jackton distillery.
Alison Harding, Amw Designs, says: “It was a delight to be able to incorporate a touch of locality to these stunning showhomes, they’ve really added a special touch. There are some fantastic local businesses within Jackton and further afield, so it’s wonderful to be able to showcase these businesses and gives those visiting some inspirations for their own homes.”
Liana Canavan, sales and marketing director for Cala Homes (West), says: “Sequoia Meadows has been an incredibly popular development amongst a range of buyers since it first launched last year and we felt this was the perfect development to launch our very first Showhome of Support. The idea has been really well received by businesses which are now featured in our showhomes so we’re excited to unveil these newly designed show homes to potential homebuyers. Purchasers will spot our tags on several items within the show homes which highlight where the product is from so they too can make a purchase, it’s especially useful if families are looking to make the move to Jackton and maybe don’t know the local area very well yet.”
Sequoia Meadows from the WhatHouse? Award-winning developer offers a diverse collection of homes to suit all types of homebuyers from one- and two-bedroom apartments to three-, four- and five-bedroom homes, set in the semi-rural suburb of Jackton. The final five-bedroom homes within the development’s first phase are available to reserve now with 2023 move-in dates.
