Tree Nursery And Christmas Event At West London Development
Posted 28 November 2023 by
Helen ChristieMonday 27 November until Sunday 3 December is National Tree Week, and WhatHouse? Award-winning developer Berkeley has created a tree nursery at its West London development, The Green Quarter.
The Green Quarter is a canalside development, and at 88 acres, it is one of London’s biggest regeneration projects. Designed with sustainability in mind, the development offers 13 acres of parkland, podium gardens and over 1.5km of canal frontage.
There is currently a collection of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes available in the Parkside Central phase at The Green Quarter. The development also offers an impressive collection of resident facilities, including a gym, cinema room, meeting room, lounge and co-working space. Parkside Yards is the new on-site hub at the The Green Quarter, and provides a cafe, organic grocery store, creative arts hub, ceramics studio, lifestyle store and the tree nursery.
The tree nursery, planted in partnership with London Wildlife Trust, consists of 600 air-potted trees from seven different species, which, once matured, will be planted around the development to help boost the biodiversity, air quality and sustainability of the local area. There is an integrated nature trail which allows visitors to explore and learn about the types of trees present: silver birch, wild cherry, black alder, lime, hornbeam, crab apple and London plane.
Berkeley is inviting visitors the chance to explore the tree nursery during tree week, with Parkside Yards hosting its Christmas event on Thursday 30 November, between 5:00pm and 8:00pm. The free event includes a light trail through the nursery, food and drink stores, live music, Santa’s sleigh and live reindeer.
The development is located opposite Southall Crossrail station in Zone 4, connecting residents quickly and easily to central London via the Elizabeth Line, as well to Heathrow Airport, Canary Wharf and Reading.
Prices at the development start from £408,000
