West Scotland Buyers Showing Keen Part Exchange Interest

Posted 29 December 2020 by Keith Osborne

House-hunters are avoiding the property chain by using Part Exchange with Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes...

With the property chain always a risk to house-hunters selling a current home to buy a new one, ‘second-steppers’ welcome the offer of Part Exchange to remove the risk of things falling through, as Barratt Developments is discovering at developments across the west of Scotland.

Under its Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, the company buys the existing property, removing the need to use estate agents and pay their fees, but the housebuilder also pays a fair value for the home, allowing buyers a chain free transition to their brand new property. Once the sale is agreed, the buyer can approach their lender to conclude the purchase of their new home. This initiative applies to buyers of a new home where construction of the home is complete, or due for completion within eight weeks.

Part Exchange is available across many of the housebuilder’s developments across the west of Scotland:

Weirs Wynd, Johnston – This Renfrewshire development, just a 20-minute drive from Glasgow city centre, has a range of three- and four-bedrooms for sale, priced between £238,995 and £334,995. It’s a well-connected location with shopping, leisure and amenities all within easy reach. Some plots are being offer with significant deposit contributions from David Wilson Homes.

Merlin Gardens, East Kilbride – Priced between £211,995 and £297,995 are a variety of three- and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached houses. Schools and amenities are close by, East Kilbride station a couple of miles away. There’s a deposit paid offer on selected plots.
