Buyer Events At South Coast Developments This Weekend

Barratt David Wilson will be helping homeowners secure a brand new home by hosting its first-ever ‘5% deposit’ events at its Madgwick Park and Saxon Corner developments on Saturday 2 October, 11.00am to 3.00pm, and buyers can expect advice galore.

The event will focus on the schemes available to homebuyers with just a 5% deposit – namely Help to Buy and the Deposit Unlock scheme. Sales advisors will be on hand to offer guidance and answer any questions.

The government’s Help to Buy scheme allows first-time buyers the chance to secure a new home under the value of £437,600 (in the South East) with just a 5% deposit. The government lends the buyer 20% of the value of the property in the form of an interest free equity loan for five years, meaning that buyers then gain access to some of the great mortgage rates currently available with just a 75% mortgage.

And, available to both first-time buyers and existing homeowners, the Deposit Unlock scheme offers buyers the chance to purchase a new build home priced up to £330,000 with just a 5% deposit. Buyers can then ‘unlock’ the competitively priced mortgage rates available for the remaining 95%. Both schemes are designed to make buying a new home much more affordable.
