Keith OsborneBarratt Developments – WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year 2019 – is right now offering buyers savings worth thousands of pounds towards their deposit on selected plots at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes schemes across the West Midlands region.
Barratt is providing a number of ways to help house-hunters save money and hassle on plots at its developments, from schemes such as Help to Buy, Home Reach and Deposit Unlock to individual offers on things like Stamp Duty, agents’ fees and the deposit required.
Here are a few of the homes where Barratt is contributing thousands of pounds in deposit assistance.
Herefordshire
Hawk Rise offers two-, three- and four-bedroom houses priced from £209,995 to £315,995 in the picturesque market town of Ledbury, just 15-20 minutes from its shops and station. It’s a 30 minute journey to Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester. A number of buyer assistance schemes are available here and on Plot 247, the ‘Kingsville’ from £315,995, has the offer of £10,000 towards the deposit. This popular three-floor house type is a semi-detached home with three private parking spaces and a layout which includes kitchen/family/dining room, first floor lounge, en suite main bedroom and a ground floor fourth bedroom or study.
Staffordshire
Fradley Manor is near Lichfield and is well connected by local rail and road links. Families will appreciate a ‘Good’ rated primary school within walking distance. Prices start at £279,995 right now. A number of the three- and four-bedroom homes for sale come with a £10,000 deposit boost offer. One is the three-bedroom ‘Ennerdale’ on Plot 36, priced from £312,995, with single garage and two parking spaces. Two of the bedrooms are doubles and one comes with an en suite shower room. There’s a kitchen/dining room and separate lounge. For more living space, the detached ‘Alderney’ on Plot 31 is priced from £389,995 and it features a south-facing garden, a kitchen/family room, separate lounge, a dining room and three of its four bedrooms are doubles, with en suite to bedroom one.
The ‘Hale’ house type at Dunstall Park
Dunstall Park is in Tamworth and there’s currently a range of three- and four-bedroom homes for sale there, with prices from £269,995. There are Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ schools nearby and it’s a short distance to the town centre, railway station, retail park and numerous major roads. Among the £10,000 deposit boost offer homes is the ‘Hale’ on Plot 477, priced at £404,995. This house type has an integral single garage, four double bedrooms (one with en suite), kitchen/dining room with utility room, and a separate lounge.
Warwickshire
The Moorings in Hillmorton, on the south-eastern fringe of Rugby, is a canalside development which is proving very popular, with 12 sales in the last 13 weeks. There are primary schools nearby and a number of major roads are easy to reach. Plot 8 is a three-bedroom home priced £354,995 which currently comes with a £5,000 deposit contribution offer. The mid-terrace ‘Cannington’ is set over three storeys and highlights include a separate kitchen, dedicated study, addition first-floor lounge, three double bedrooms (one en suite) and two private parking spaces. With a deposit contribution of £7,000 is the semi-detached four-double-bedroom ‘Drayton’ on Plot 6. Bishop’s Hill is in Bishop’s Itchington and currently has a range of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes for sale from £252,000. The village is just two miles from the M40 and there’s a bus service from the development into Leamington Spa, taking only 15 minutes. Plot 100 is the ‘Hadley’ from £355,000 and it currently has a 5% deposit boost offer worth £17,250. It features a utility room off the kitchen/dining/family room, a separate lounge and and en suite to one of its three bedrooms. Ready to move int this winter, it comes with south-facing garden, single garage and two private parking spaces.
Aston Grange is a few miles south of Warwick and Leamington Spa, with the M40 just a short drive away providing convenient long-distance connections. In time, new shops, a pub and a school are planned to complement the range of homes being built here. Of the current selection of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses offered here, starting at £255,600, there’s a deposit boost worth £12,000 on Plot 14, the semi-detached ‘Ellerton’. This has a lounge at the front, kitchen/diner at the rear, two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and two private parking spaces.
The ‘Haversham’ house type at Elborough Place
Elborough Place is located only minutes away from Rugby town centre and when completed, with comprise a wide range of homes with from two to five bedrooms. The numerous Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ schools in the area will be a big draw for families. Prices here currently start at £279,995. Of several homes now on sale with the deposit boost offer, the ‘Haversham’ on Plot 285 comes with a deal worth some £15,000. This three-storey house, priced at £332,995, has a kitchen/dining/living room, a lounge and en suite master bedroom on the first floor, two more double bedrooms on the top floor and a room on the ground floor could be a single bedroom or home office.
West Midlands
The deposit boost offer is not just on houses – at Berrington Place, there’s a range of two-bedroom apartments where Barratt Homes with pay up to £10,000 on the deal. Located in Birmingham city centre, this development has one- and two-bedroom properties including some available on a ‘part buy-part rent’ basis through Home Reach. Help to Buy is also offered on some. Plot 460 is a second-floor ‘Type Q’ priced at £263,500. It has an open-plan kitchen/dining/living room, two double bedrooms (one with en suite), family bathroom and off-hallway storage. It comes with a single parking space.
