Would-be homebuyers in Derbyshire looking to plan ahead and ensure their 2021 move is in place before Christmas are being encouraged to make an appointment to attend Barratt Homes’ appointment-only event in Mickleover this weekend, Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November.

There, the housebuilder is offering a choice of incentives from a 5% deposit boost, a contribution towards moving costs or a mortgage subsidy are available to clear the path to flexible living.

A recent survey of prospective purchasers aged between 18 and 40 revealed that 30% of 5,000 respondents identified raising a deposit as the biggest barrier to buying a property. Second on the list was getting a mortgage, which Barratt Homes can also assist with, providing expert and complimentary guidance on getting financially qualified for a new property.

The event this weekend is also set to provide an insight into the benefits of three-storey living in the ‘Kingsville’ style home, notably providing more space for anyone seeking a larger property post-lockdown.

Kingsville show homeJan Ruston, sales director at Barratt Homes North Midlands, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming house hunters in Derbyshire to our event in Mickleover this weekend, and anyone interested in attending can still book an appointment with a sales adviser.

“Our growing community is now over 90% sold and, to help keen homebuyers secure more space for less, we’re offering a range of fantastic offers on our three-storey ‘Kingsville’ style properties.”

The selection of ‘Kingsville’ houses at Mickleover – priced from £268,995 – has the added benefit of the show home of the same type on the development, giving prospective purchasers an insight into what their new home could look like.

Mickleover offers a countryside retreat whilst being close to Derby city centre, plus convenient access to the A38, A50, M1 and Derby railway station for commuting.

Royal Derby Hospital is also in close proximity, which is ideal for anyone looking to take advantage of Barratt Homes’ NHS deposit contribution scheme, in the form of a 5% deposit boost up to the value of £15,000.
