Derbyshire is a place where work and leisure go hand in hand. The main city is Derby but there is also a market for holiday and second homes in the Peak District, at the southern end of the Pennines. New properties are found in and around Derby including at Breadsall, Avalston and Stenson Fields. Bustling market towns like Ashbourne, Chesterfield and Bakewell have much to offer young families and people moving into the area. The M1 is the main motorway that serves the region and there are numerous A-roads leading off to the towns and village. There are direct trains from Leicester, London, Luton and Sheffield to Derby and Chesterfield. Services also run to Derby from Birmingham, Crewe, Nottingham and Stoke-on-Trent, with connections to Matlock and Long Eaton.
Derby itself has a respected university and Friargate is the place to be for young professionals and the hub of the city.
