New Homes Launched At Nailsea Development

Helen ChristieWhatHouse? Award-winning developer Acorn Property Group has launched Bucklands Place, an exclusive new development of 17 new houses nestled in the picturesque Somerset countryside.
Set on the outskirts of the popular town of Nailsea, Bucklands Place offers a collection of three- and four-bedroom homes, ideally positioned for peaceful suburban living within easy reach of everything the town has to offer.
Less than half a mile from Backwell Lake and close to nearby woodland and open fields, Bucklands Place has been designed to reflect its natural surroundings. Exterior details such as timber finishes and a natural colour scheme complement the adjacent woodland, while inside the bright, open spaces lend a light, airy feel throughout.
With a predicted energy efficiency rating of EPC A, environmentally sustainable features include solar PV panels and electric car-charging capabilities, along with high-performance windows, hydrogen-ready boilers and LED lighting. Through the implementation of Sustainable urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), rainwater from the houses and roads will be naturally filtered through a raingarden and stored for slow release to alleviate flooding further downstream.
All properties benefit from parking and private gardens. Less than 10 miles from Bristol, the homes are just a 10-minute walk to the nearby train station with direct links to the city.

Robin Squire, regional managing director, Acorn’s Bristol Region, says: “With easy access to both the surrounding countryside and Nailsea town centre, Bucklands Place combines a peaceful, scenic setting on the edge of a bustling, sought-after town. We know that energy efficiency is a key factor when choosing a new home and every house here has been designed to keep rooms warm during the colder months, while allowing for plenty of ventilation throughout the year. The combination of style and comfort, together with all the benefits this location brings, is likely to result in strong demand.”
Acorn is developing Bucklands Place in partnership with Barwood Capital, which acquired the site in July 2022 through its Residential Platform.
Steve Chambers, director and head of residential investment at Barwood Capital, says: “We’re excited to see the homes at Bucklands Place progress. With such a high-quality approach to every detail and Nailsea’s popularity as a commuter town to Bristol, this is an ideal development to help meet strong demand for new homes in the area.”
Along with the 17 open market houses at Bucklands Place, there will be two Shared Ownership and five affordable rent homes. The marketing suite is due to launch in the next few months, with a show home set to open in spring 2024.
Homes at Bucklands Place are available to buy through Acorn, and prices start from £400,000.
