Show Home Room By Room: The Davenport Villas, Oxford
Buyers can now experience the luxurious style and specification on offer within a new collection of detached waterfront villas at WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year Hill’s Mosaics development in Oxford.
Recently unveiled, The Davenport Villas comprise just six beautiful five-bedroom family homes that overlook the tranquil Bayswater Brook. From the moment buyers step through the door, they will be emersed in generous space and impressive bespoke detailing, alongside a unique and tranquil setting.
Rebecca Littler, group sales and marketing director, commented: “The Davenport Villas offer an outstanding collection of stylish homes that provide exclusive living for families seeking a home that will cater for every member of the household. Mosaics offers buyers the opportunity to live in a thriving new neighbourhood that combines a unique collection of natural waterside surroundings, alongside an integrated network of new cycle and pedestrian routes. The Davenport Villas is the latest collection of homes to launch at this well-received development, and gives families a fantastic opportunity to enjoy living in what is a truly remarkable place to call home.”
Jessica Bell, design consultant at Suna Interior Design, explains more about the overall theme of the show home and what influenced their design: “A deep heritage blue, paired with brassy tones and blush pinks, were at the heart of our Davenport Villa show home design. The architecture of the home with large sliding doors opening onto the outside spaces created a natural flow elegantly bringing the exterior to the interior, so we were really keen to utilise the outside spaces as part of our interior scheme – including outdoor rugs and large comfy seating areas. This seamless design of ‘outside and inside’ is represented by botanical elements in the artwork, cushions, wall murals and touches of wooden furniture throughout.”
The kitchen/dining/family room is one of the most impressive rooms in the Davenport Villa show home. A collaboration of sleek and stylish detailing, with added pops of colour that create dramatic tones using the heritage blue with the subtle accents of blush pink. This room provides a haven of uses – the beautiful centre island provides an ideal space for meal times, whilst the more formal dining area with bi-fold doors onto the garden is perfect for hosting and entertaining. The family area also features another section of bi-fold doors and creates a relaxing space to enjoy bringing the outside in.
A separate utility room provides a handy muddy-boot room with direct external side access and extra storage, while access to an integrated garage and underfloor heating ensures a comprehensive and practical environment.
A generously sized home office is bright and features views overlooking the tranquil Bayswater Brook at the front of the house. The heritage blue tones have been carried through into this room, yet are slightly muted with a white background in order to create a relaxing space for home working lifestyles.
On the first floor is a more formal adult living room. A simply stunning area that has been designed with a natural colour palette, yet still draws on the brassy tones creating an opulent space that is both stylish and comfortable.
Double-width sliding doors opens onto a terrace, again ensuring the outdoors complements the interior and is a soothing space where the grown-ups can enjoy a morning coffee or evening meal in private.
Ideal for the younger members of the household, a stylish snug/games room is where we envision the children/teenagers spending most of their time watching movies away from the rest of the home and is sure to be a hit with their friends.
For those seeking solace away from the rest of the home, the second floor provides the ideal sanctuary. A sumptuous master bedroom with views overlooking Bayswater Brook, is not only superb in size but also in style. The luxurious colour palette continues into this room – rich blue tones and accents of gold paired with crisp fresh white brings a sense of understated style. A separate dressing area with built-in wardrobes and ensuite bathroom makes this the perfect place for the adults of the household to escape to.
In addition to this we also have the guest bedroom, which has doubled up as a second work from home space/hobby room - allowing the top floor to be the parents’ haven at the top of the house. Each space is designed from the same colour palette, which allows the whole house to flow and work cohesively as a beautiful family home.
