Dream First Home For Medical Researcher

Helen ChristieFlorian Guitton, an Imperial College researcher who participated in a COVID-19 vaccine trial and supported in the development of new vaccine technology purchased his first home at Fulham Reach via the Discount Market Scheme.
Having rented in the Hammersmith and Fulham area for over 11 years, 32 year-old Florian Guitton was overjoyed to find a home of his own in Fulham Reach, just moments from his critical work, which involves researching COVID-19 vaccines at Imperial College.
“Finding a property so close to work, which was also within my budget, was a massive bonus for me, particularly during the pandemic when I was having to regularly visit the hospital or research lab. Being able to jump on a bus or walk along the Thames to work provided such a boost to my wellbeing.”
Florian purchased his new home through the discount market sale (DMS) initiative, launched in partnership with St George and the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham – which is a scheme available exclusively to those currently living or working in the borough. Residents pay a percentage of the open market value of the apartment while maintaining full ownership of the property.
Commenting on the scheme, Florian says: “I had been interested in the DMS homes being delivered by St George, and was excited to be offered the chance to view the homes at Fulham Reach. It was great timing as I was at a point in my career where I was able to buy my own home and the apartment at the development perfectly suited my needs.”
At Fulham Reach, all residents have access to an incredible range of private amenities through The Tamesis Club – a residents’ club which comprises a state-of-the-art gymnasium, a 15-metre swimming pool and a spa suite with a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and private treatment rooms. Florian comments: “I’m able to run up and down the Thames and then jump in the pool or go to the gym - it’s so convenient.”

Florian continues: “Having moved around London a fair bit, I always found myself drawn back to the same few streets. These homes have now sold, with the next launch anticipated in January 2023.
Purchasers pay a sum at a percentage of the open market value of the apartment whilst retaining full ownership of the property. When the owner sells the property, it must be sold with the same criteria and at the same market value percentage as at the time of purchase.
