Race For First Pick Of Bedrooms In New Kirk Langley Home
Posted 11 January 2022 by
Keith OsborneA local family of four recently moved into their new dream home, the five-bedroom ‘Shardlow’ at the Flagshaw Pastures development in the Derbyshire village of Kirk Langley.
Previously, the Mr and Mrs Jarvis and their two children lived in Darley Abbey and so they were particularly familiar with the picturesque village.
Paul Jarvis said: “We’ve lived close to the city centre of Derby for eleven years so we really wanted to move nearer to the countryside. Kirk Langley’s rolling backdrop was a tremendous attribute to the location. We’re also National Trust members and for that reason it was important to us to have easy access to historic sites such as Kedleston Hall.”
The Jarvises often spend their weekends exploring the 800 acres of parkland that surround the Neo-classical mansion, as well as wandering around the grand Hall, which provides an opportunity for the children to learn about history and outstanding architecture.
Paul added: “The decision to relocate came because our eldest was approaching her final year of primary school and we wanted to ensure her place at the best high school in the area. Upon looking at available homes in the village, we immediately fell in love with the ‘Shardlow’ house type and so, we reserved the plot even before construction had begun!”
The ‘Shardlow’ boasts a generous open-plan kitchen, diner and family area which appealed to the Jarvis family as well as the four double bedrooms and a sizeable master bedroom with spacious en suite.
Paul commented: “Our girls were so excited to call Flagshaw Pastures home and they rushed to choose their bedrooms, the eldest being 12 had first pick, however there were three other fantastic-sized rooms to choose from for our youngest, aged nine.”
Paul and his wife were able to sit with sales executive Julie and completely personalise their new home. The couple chose a grey granite worktop and light-grey cupboard doors with chrome handles. Paul said: “From reservation to moving day, the process has taken around 18 months as we reserved really early. The service throughout the purchase has been faultless, a straight-forward move for us.
“We vacated our previous home last May as our buyers were keen to move in and so we rented until the November. Moving twice was worth it as we are over the moon with our characterful five-bedroom.
“Julie was the icing on the cake during the whole experience, she was very contactable when we had queries about each stage and she looked after our family from start to finish, even involving the girls where she could.”
He continued: “We’re so impressed with how our kitchen looks, it exudes quality with the spotlights in the plinth and downlighting under the cupboards – really extenuating the excellent craftmanship and first-class appliances.”
Phase 2 at Flagshaw Pastures launches soon and house-hunters are invited to register their interest. Find out more at peverilhomes.co.uk.
