‘The House That Dad Built’ For Family In Doseley

Posted 24 March 2021 by Keith Osborne

Andy Tyrer and his family are now living on a development where his father has been involved in the building process...

A Telford son is keeping it in the family with his new home in Doseley after choosing a property on the development where his dad works.

Andy Tyrer (44) has now moved into a three-bedroom ‘Greenwood’ style home at The Grove at Doseley Park with his wife, Dawn (43) and their two sons, Liam (15) and Ashton (12). His father Steve works at development as a contractor and can now proudly say that he had a hand in building his son’s family home, after suggesting that the family take a look at the David Wilson Homes development.

Andy said: “We called the sales office and were immediately welcomed by Gaenor, the sales adviser. We then visited the development and within a week we had put a deposit down. The customer service has been brilliant, even throughout lockdown, and the aftercare support has been brilliant.

“My brother-in-law has also purchased his property through David Wilson Homes on a different development and has had an excellent experience.”

Unfortunately, Andy hasn’t inherited the same DIY mentality as his dad and therefore the family wanted a home that they could move straight into without it needing any work doing to it.

Dawn said: “We wanted a property that we could just move into and not have to change the décor, kitchen or bathrooms and something to suit our tastes.

“We chose the three-bedroom, three-storey ‘Greenwood’ style home as we felt it was ample for what we needed. We loved the open-plan kitchen, dining and family area. The bedrooms are also a fantastic size for the kids, they have so much more room now.”

Located in the village of Doseley, the development is built by an award-winning team and offers tranquil countryside living, surrounded by woodland and calming green open space. It has been created around a Garden City design with a strong emphasis on landscape design in keeping with its surroundings. These spaces allow residents to connect with nature, enhancing their sense of wellbeing.

Andy continued: “One of the reasons that we moved here is that the neighbours and other members of the community are very friendly. Also, some of the other developments that we looked at seem claustrophobic in layout, but here is very much the opposite with numerous green and open spaces.”
