New Resident Welcomed To Friendly Banbury Community
Dorothea Wiltshire, 78, has found her new home at Bromford’s Park Gardens – a retirement living development in Banbury – and has been welcomed into the community with open arms.
After needing to find a more manageable property, Dorothea sold her three-bedroom bungalow in Banbury and moved into her new two-bedroom apartment early last November.
Dorothea said: “My previous home was too large for me to look after as it needed a lot of maintenance after my husband moved into a care home. I started exploring different avenues and discovered Park Gardens near to where I was living, which seemed to offer the perfect solution for my current situation.
“I came across this development when looking around the area at retirement properties, but there was no contest between Bromford and the others available. The apartments here are so modern and there are many amenities on site, including a hair salon and bistro which I regularly use. I have also recently joined the gym and started Zumba classes too!
“I was attracted to the high-quality build and spacious design of the apartment and the security of living in a retirement complex. What I like most is the spacious lounge and fully fitted kitchen, which has everything I need.”
She was able to settle into her new apartment very quickly, soon feeling like she’d lived there forever with the apartment becoming a true home – a feeling that returns whenever Dorothea steps through the front door.
Dorothea added: “There is a real sense of community here and I have made several friends already. Everyone is very friendly, and we all meet regularly in the communal lounge areas and have coffee mornings every Tuesday. Some of us also often have lunch together in the bistro too. So far, I’ve met about 40 new people here.
“The team at Bromford were excellent every step of the way, and made the move really easy for me. Upon arrival, I received a warm welcome from my development coach, who is always on hand to answer any questions I have.
