Home On Hayling Island For Beach Lovers
Kevin O’Mahony, 38, and Caroline Larkins, 28, met on Southsea seafront, and desperately wanted to purchase a new home by the coast. Their dream came true when the soon-to-be-married couple came across Barratt Homes’ Pebble Walk, which is being constructed near Hayling Island’s south east coastline on Sinah Lane.
Kevin says: “Soon after we reserved our property, Barratt invited us on-site to make the sale official by sticking a ‘sold’ sign on our plot. It was fantastic to be able to stake our claim and see our house in its early stages of build. All we need to do now is wait for the move-in date.”
Buying a property ahead of their wedding in June 2023, Barratt’s development was an ideal choice for the engaged couple.
Kevin adds: “We’re looking forward to starting a family, so our new home needed to be large enough for us to grow into. Pebble Walk, with its spacious properties, is perfect. We both love how close it is to the beach, and with Portsmouth nearby, it is also ideal for work.”
Kevin, who’s been a firefighter in Portsmouth for three years, originally moved over to the UK from Ireland six years ago, and after meeting Caroline in Southsea, it wasn’t long before the pair decided to build a life together.
Caroline says: “I’ve always loved being near a beach and having moved from London to the south coast 10 years ago, it is where I wanted to stay. Pebble Walk is in an idyllic setting and being able to find a property that also ticked all the boxes for us, was amazing.”
And, with the Island development benefiting from an excellent selection of shops and restaurants nearby, as well as a great choice of 'Outstanding' Ofsted rated schools, it’s also in a location that will suit Kevin and Caroline’s future needs.
Caroline adds: “Living in a new community, close to local amenities as well as good schools, means we can see Pebble Walk being our home for quite a few years to come.”
It was Barratt’s four-bedroom Kinglsey property that won over the couple. The detached property includes a light and airy lounge off an entrance hall, along with a spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area, with French doors leading to the garden. A separate utility and cloakroom are also found on the ground floor. Upstairs there’s a main bedroom with en-suite, two further double bedrooms, a single bedroom, and a family bathroom. The home also comes with a garage and parking.
