Striking Standalone Offices For Homes In Pease Pottage

Posted 23 October 2020 by Keith Osborne

The Woodgate development in West Sussex is seeing the introduction of a purpose-built dedicated outside office option...

With home-working set to be the new normal for many people, developer Thakeham has introduced the Home Hub, its garden-based, standalone office for buyers of its homes in the South East of England.

Launching initially at the Woodgate development in Pease Pottage, West Sussex, the Home Hub is a self-contained and fully insulated external structure which can be installed in the gardens of any of the house types subject to stage of construction, providing a quiet, separate space for home-working. The Home Hub will be available for buyers at Woodgate to purchase at the point of reserving their home and it will be installed and ready for the day they move in.

Rob Boughton, CEO at Thakeham Group, commented: “The pandemic has created a shift in our working lives and with flexible working set to continue for the foreseeable future, we wanted to provide our purchasers with the option to further enhance their new home to meet the requirements of their changing lifestyles. The Home Hub creates a quiet haven for home office working.”

Home Hub at WoodgateDesigned and built by Thakeham, the Home Hub is available in two sizes – 119 sq ft and 65 sq ft. Finished to a high standard, the Home Hub is designed to complement the quality and design of a Thakeham home. Externally, it features a responsibly-sourced Western Red Cedar boarded finish and brise soleil sun shading, while the interior is a neutral, calming space with cool grey walls and ceilings and high-quality vinyl flooring.

The Home Hub is fully insulated with double-glazed PVC-u doors and windows. Connected to the mains power, it features a ceiling-mounted infrared panel heater for the cooler months, internal and external recessed downlighters and power, BT and data sockets, creating a fully functional and ready-to-use workspace.

The Home Hub is available to purchase, priced at £17,500 for the 65-sq-ft structure and £25,000 for the 119-sq-ft structure; it is available to purchase outright or as part of the overall cost of the customer’s new home.

Two-, three- and four-bedroom homes at Woodgate currently start at £440,000.
