Bungalows For Sale at New ‘Garden Villages’
Edenstone Homes is currently building Garden Village developments in Swansea and Herefordshire which offer homebuyers a range of bungalows, a rare but popular new build house type.
All 28 homes in the first phase of Parc Ceirw Garden Village in Morriston, four miles from Swansea city centre, are bungalows, with four styles for buyers to choose from, and there’s a choice of three styles available at St Mary’s Garden Village in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.
Research by the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation on behalf of retirement community operators found that while nearly 60% of surplus bedrooms are in homes occupied by the over 65s, a lack of age-friendly housing was limiting the options for many who wanted to downsize. The report called for the building of homes suitable for one- and two-person households to be prioritised, along with better promotion of the benefits of downsizing.

Bungalows account for just 10% of domestic properties, according to Valuation Agency data, but we’re helping change that by building this style of home at Parc Ceirw Garden Village. Bungalows at Parc Ceirw Garden Village are showcased by the three-bedroom ‘Budleigh’ show home. Behind its traditional exterior, inside the ‘Budleigh’ is bright and modern. The open-plan kitchen, living room and dining room has a real wow factor. Windows installed below the eaves and above the bi-fold doors, effectively create a double-height, floor-to-ceiling glass wall bathing the property in lots of natural light. 'Budleigh'
This development comprises around 300 homes and community facilities across 35 acres and will take around five years to complete. Along with bungalows, St Mary’s Garden Village offers a choice of two-storey homes designed to reflect and complement the existing local architecture of the area. Four-bedroom family-sized homes are currently priced from £399,995.
'Sidmouth'
The wider 290-home development will eventually include a host of facilities including a community building with equipped indoor gym, community hall and kitchen. Residents will be able to enjoy an abundance of open space including play areas; walking trail with outdoor exercise equipment; a kick about area; cycle hire facilities; allotments with raised beds, plus an orchard and meadow.
