Helen ChristieThe doors are open at Westcountry housebuilder Cavanna Homes’ stunning show home at Cavanna @ Wolborough Hill, an exclusive development of luxury, high-specification new homes.
Paul Furner, head of sales and marketing at Cavanna Homes, says: “We’re extremely proud of Cavanna @ Wolborough Hill. All our homes feature high-specification finishes, such as smart technology, fireplaces, and underfloor heating, and are built to an excellent standard. If anyone is looking to move to Newton Abbot, we invite them to come along to our show home and Marketing Suite to find out more.”
The show home is a four-bedroom ‘Alexandra’ which features a study, a dressing room, and an open plan modern, family kitchen / dining room.
Andrew Henry, director at Andrew Henry Interiors, was in charge of the interior design.
Andrew says: “This development is one of the most sought-after areas of Newton Abbot, appealing to professional families as well as people relocating to enjoy the Devon lifestyle.
“The show home extends over three levels and incorporates interesting split levels, so we were keen to show how versatile the accommodation could be. We adopted a classic contemporary style for the interior design scheme bringing in accent colours against a neutral backdrop of royal blue and warm caramel.”
Dining room: This modern dining room includes a fireplace and family table for a formal seating area. Above the dining room table hangs a contemporary chandelier, and a dramatic oversized piece of bespoke abstract artwork on the wall adds further impact.
Kitchen: The open plan kitchen features a wine cooler and large statement windows leading onto the garden and creating a bright communal setting. The kitchen / dining space is on a lower mezzanine level, and with its high ceilings and tall picture windows, we created a wow factor in the dining area with stunning Romo wallpaper and an impressive reclaimed dining table, seating eight people, with smart contemporary royal blue velvet chairs. The kitchen area has smart anthracite shaker style cabinetry, which is based on uncluttered designs with a matte finish, set beneath Silestone work surfaces. There is also an impressive island which would be on most buyers’ wish lists, complete with a plug socket and bar stools.
Living room: The family living room features a cosy fireplace, with two sofas and two coffee tables creating a welcoming environment for all to enjoy. The living room has superb views across the Devon countryside from its bay window. We created a calm, relaxing environment with comfortable sofas in a neutral boucle fabric. These are punctuated by striking accent cushions in plain and geometric patterns complementing the bold artwork around the room in smart black frames. The room also has a gas fired log burner, an unusual feature in most new homes but a great example of the attention to detail Cavanna Homes had gone to when designing and specifying the properties.”
Master bedroom: This stunning master bedroom comes with its own separate dressing room and en-suite and enjoys spectacular views across Newton Abbot to Dartmoor. The master bedroom on the top floor was designed to be a luxurious haven. With superb views, the room was characterised by its sloping ceilings. Walls were decorated in calm caramel tones with a feature Casamance wallpaper next to the bed head. The bed itself was a modern take on a traditional sleigh bed, and fully upholstered in a smart, textured fabric dressed with relaxed throws and striking cushions.”
Second bedroom: The spacious second bedroom comfortably fits a double bed with plenty of room for a desk and storage. Of the four double bedrooms, we designed two to appeal to older teenagers. The more masculine teenage room was painted in blue with its accessories and styling, bringing the room to life and showing off how spacious the homes are.”
Study: The study offers plenty of storage as well as a clean, open space to work in. The study is extremely spacious and was designed to be used as a home office, but can also be transformed into a bedroom for guests.”
The development will feature a tennis court for residents, and large green landscaped areas, including a play area, for homeowners to enjoy the outdoors. Taking advantage of the high vantage point location, the development offers spectacular views over Newton Abbot to Dartmoor and is close to Decoy Country Park, the town centre, and train station with easy access to Exeter and Plymouth.
