Weston Homes sell 90% of first phase at Highbanks to first-time buyers

Posted 5 April 2016 by Helen Christie

Following the launch in late 2015, Weston Homes has announced that 90% of the sales at Highbanks, Southend-on-Sea, have been sold to first-time buyers...

The developer has reported regular sales averaging four per week, with first-time buyers drawn to the high quality specification, pricing and option to purchase through with the government backed incentive, Help to Buy. Buyers have mainly been from the local area, with a number also from the wider Essex county.

Bob Weston, CEO of Weston Group comments: “The spacious, high specification interiors, fantastic location and generous square footage at Highbanks has proven very popular with first-time buyers. As the former TSB call centre, Highbanks has been transformed into the tallest residential tower in Essex, providing much needed housing to the local market and we are delighted to have created new homes which cater to the local buyers requirements.”

Reaching to 37m in height, Weston Homes have undertaken extensive restoration and conversion of the building to create high quality living in a location which is seeing considerable regeneration and improvement. Comprising 75 one- and two-bedroom apartments spread across 12 storeys, many of which offer far reaching views of the Thames Estuary. A further 22 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments are set within a newly constructed building on the site, providing a variety of home types to suit a range of buyers.

Highbanks is enviably specified, with designer Oakwood kitchens featuring integrated Zanussi appliances, a choice of quartz stone worktops and the Weston Homes signature Fascino instant boiling-water tap. Luxury bathrooms feature ‘Laufen Pro’ and ‘Roca Laura’ sanitaryware with RAK Ceramic tiling and every apartment includes comfort under-floor heating to key rooms. Each purchaser at the development will also be entitled to a parking space.

Highbanks is situated overlooking the stunning Thames estuary coastline, Southend-on-Sea. The bustling city has recently won the coveted Purple Flag, confirming it as a nightlife hotspot and also features the Cliffs Pavilion, which exhibits world-class theatre high above the city.

Southend-on-Sea is well connected with London Liverpool Street, reachable within an hour from Southend Victoria Station and London Fenchurch Street also under an hour by train from Southend Central Station. London Southend Airport is within a fifteen-minute drive of Highbanks.

With the interior designed by gold-medal winning Olympic athlete Max Whitlock, the show home is available to view.

Prices start from £155,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.
