Helen ChristieNew i.d Interiors have recently designed the show home of a chic new development located in the district of Poundbury, sat on the outskirts of the historic market-town of Dorchester.
Amrit Lattimore, lead designer on the project for New i.d Interiors says: “With this property, we wanted to create a luxurious and high-quality interior aimed at the affluent over 60s and downsizers market, and the classical design had to be in line with the grandeur of the buildings.”
Living room: Here, the open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge offers residents a dynamic, spacious and practical living space in which to live, host and relax. Set against a warm, neutral palette, hints of regal purple offer an air of sophistication and glamour, and beautiful plush textures provide comfort.
Master bedroom: With the impressive master suite we wanted to make the most of the generous space. A bright and open room, with lots of natural light, the king-size bed is very much the centrepiece of the room - we introduced deep blue here to offer depth and give the room a strong focal point. Accents of gold decorate the room with the decadent side and dressing tables, circular mirrors and ornate curtain ties. The room comes furnished with a sleek en-suite fitted with a shower, toilet, sink and fanlight, painted in a the same neutral palette as the bedroom.
Guest bedroom: Carrying through the colour theme of the master bedroom, the decor of the guest bedroom has a more relaxed air; dark blue is replaced by lighter hues, and cooler creams are replaced with sand tones. The room is fitted with a double bed, two side tables, two side lamps, mirror and spacious wardrobe. Two large windows dressed with taupe venetian blinds frame the structure of the room, ensuring a good nights sleep and plenty of light throughout the day.

Dining room: One of the properties most spectacular features is the terrace which looks out onto the neighbouring buildings and the distant horizon. We positioned the dining area to open up onto the patio through the French doors, to allow for al fresco style dining in the warmer months. The doors are framed with luxurious beige curtains for an air of grandeur that complements the classic style of the rest of the scheme.
Main bathroom: The well appointed main bathroom of the property comes with a spacious shower, bath, sink with built-in storage and large sash window. The palette is predominantly muted greys, creams and beiges which are complemented by the splashes of vibrant violets, as an extension of the colour scheme throughout.
Vickery Court sits in the very heart of Poundbury, with easy access to all amenities of the thriving both Poundbury and Dorchester.
