Tusker's Point by Waterstone Homes - Show Home Room by Room

WhatHouse? takes a tour of the show home at Tusker's Point from Waterstone Homes, which overlooks the beautiful Welsh coastline...

A luxury development of just 12 homes, Tusker’s Point is located in Ogmore-by-Sea, Vale of Glamorgan. It has incredible views of the Welsh coastline and Waterstone Homes has recently opened their new show home, with stunning interiors designed by Sunrise Interiors.

Director of Sunrise Interiors, Claire Gillard, says: “Waterstone Homes appreciates good designs and allows us the artistic freedom to create stunning interiors to complement their luxury homes. Although we are appealing to a wide range of professional purchasers, they all have one thing in common as they expect thoughtfully designed understated luxury. Our brief for the scheme was brave, contemporary and stylish coastal living."

Lounge: We were inspired by the glamour of Art Deco Miami, whilst using the wonderful moody colours of the Ogmore-by-Sea seascape; stormy blues, sea-greens and greys. In the lounge, our starting point was a bold herringbone wallpaper dictating the colour palette that then flowed throughout the house.Deep petrol blue toned velvet sofas were teamed with over-scaled floor lamps and mirrors and the centre-piece was a multi levelled dramatic glass and chrome coffee table.

Master bedroom: The rich blues continue into the stunning master suite which is luxurious and tranquil with its centre-piece free standing bath in which to relax with views of the sea.

Family room: This room benefits from large windows letting in lots of light, showcasing a great sea view. We wanted to reflect the beautiful colours of the sea in the design, opting for a stormy grey blue feature wall that carries throughout the room and contrasts with the crisp bright white kitchen units. We chose a stunning multi-faceted sun burst mirror as a key feature in the room and ensured soft, light furnishing were used on the windows to avoid distracting from the view.

Dining: Continuing the grey-blue theme in the dining area, we opted for stylish blue chairs consisting of sculpted velvet backs and contrasting sharkskin textured fronts, and highlighted their unique designs with a glass top table to make them more visible.

Kitchen: The kitchen itself sees smooth white stone tops, with modern white handle-less units, providing a contrast to the soft grey driftwood texture of the island and tiled floor. Modern family living and entertaining is at the heart of this room with a spacious open plan layout.

Bathroom: In the en-suite, we decided on a bright white and airy theme with a few accents of blue to link back to the master bedroom. The main wall features a scattered tile effect, using hexagon shaped tiles. The idea was initially inspired by the tile itself, which we wanted to use in a non-conventional manner, and the result is a unique design that achieves contrast through the use of textures rather than colour. Hexagon shaped tiles were also used on the flooring in muted tones to reflect the walls and continue the light and relaxed feel.
