The UK is a nation of property watchers according to new research by Direct Line home insurance, with 29% perusing real estate websites on a regular basis to search out new interior design ideas.

However, purchasers at Bellway Homes’ new development St Clements Lakes in Greenhithe, Kent have had the hard work taken out of their hands; rather than spending hours online, they can pick up fantastic ideas from the  show homes available to view on site.

The Buttermere show home at this new collection of three- and four-bedroom homes situated in a tranquil lakeside setting, offers purchasers an example of how potential buyers can utilise the space and furnish their new home. Specially designed to illustrate all aspects of modern family life, Bellway is encouraging potential purchasers to visit and see the expertly designed interiors for themselves.

Emma Denton, head of sales for Bellway Homes Thames Gateway, comments: “You only have to turn on the television to understand the UK’s passion for everything property so we are not too surprised by the research results. We like to feel we are giving our customers more than just a high quality home but also a sneak preview of how the space can be utilised and furnished.”

Amy Fogden, account manager at Show Business Interiors, the designers of St Clements Lakes’ show home, explains: “As the key focus of the development will be the lakes, in particular the stunning one as you enter the site, we took this as our main design element. We used a fresh colour palate of cool blues, greys, and silvers, to emulate the surface of the water.”
Amy explains: “In the Buttermere, the four-bedroom house, we wanted to create a real statement house, so as we’re not too far from the capital here we took influences from London, creating an urban, contemporary feel. The house is decorated with lots of grey, black and white, with touches of metallic and dark woods for contrast. It’s very glamorous.”The Buttermere living room

The young girls’ bedroom for example has a large, plush headboard that’s quilted in cream fabric, and the bed is draped with a golden throw and sequinned cushions, and a statement lampshade lights up the room.
