A stunning new show home from Martin Grant Homes has been unveiled at Buckton Fields, Northampton which features a fantastic entertainment room...

Martin Grant Homes unveiled its spectacular new show home in Buckton Fields, Northampton, in September.

Buckton Fields is one of Northampton’s most prestigious developments and esteemed Bristol based interior designer, Andrew Henry has created a show home which blends a luxurious, contemporary feel with a semi-rural setting to reflect the backdrop of the 188 home development.

Situated on the northern edge of the development, The Mantle show home, offers 1,793 square feet of accommodation, with spacious reception rooms and five bedrooms. Showcasing the very best of residential interior design, the home has been designed with busy family living in mind.

The five bedroom home has been designed to accommodate a family, which includes an open plan kitchen/dining area and even room for a home gym or cinema.

The ground floor comprises a cloakroom, living room and open plan kitchen/ dining room. Both reception areas allow for access onto the rear private garden. The master bedroom, with en-suite bathroom, along with two further bedrooms, a study and a family bathroom are situated on the first floor. The second floor offers a further two bedrooms and shower room, an ideal space for teenagers seeking privacy, or a home gym or cinema.

Andrew Henry Design has created a fresh contemporary feel with a neutral palette enhancing the light within the home. The classic furniture is complemented by detailing in each room, with feature walls, chandeliers and patterned blinds adding depth to the design.

Andrew Henry said: “We were eager to capture the semi-rural setting of Buckton Fields and therefore designed a soft, countryside inspired scheme. Accent colours of greens and blues were set against a neutral backdrop, which incorporated both painted and weathered oak furniture finishes.

“The family cinema room with a replica jukebox on the top floor has a real wow factor and demonstrates the flexibility‎ these properties can offer prospective buyers.”

‘’We took inspiration from the surrounding area as Buckton Fields is set in a delightful semi-rural location yet within easy reach of nearby Northampton. It was important to us that we created a show home which captured the setting in the context of an elegant, family home with contemporary influences.

“There is a consistent soft, calm theme that runs throughout the home, yet every room stands alone with its own character.”

"It is not uncommon to find new homes arranged over three floors these days, however many potential buyers find it hard to visualise just how a third storey can be used as something aside from a bedroom.  An upper level multi-purpose room is a popular concept, and this space was designed with family entertainment in mind. A large plasma television is complimented by a retro style jukebox and with a squashy leather sofa, it’s not difficult to imagine an entire family relaxing up here on a Sunday afternoon.  Again we have ensured that gentle colours run throughout the room to ensure it is as relaxing and inviting as possible.’’

"The semi-rural influence combined with the country inspired design scheme makes the living room particularly warming.  The large glass doors in this room maximise the natural light brilliantly, which is an integral part of a home’s appeal. With this in mind we used accent colours of soft greens and blues set against a neutral backdrop, which incorporated both painted and weathered oak furniture finishes."

"The kitchen and living area stands out as one of the most striking rooms of the house. With family living in mind, it was crucial for us to provide  a sense of fluidity and  to make the room feel as inviting as possible, both spatially and  through the use of warm and gentle colours. Natural tones run throughout the room and there is an abundance of organic furniture materials. The sleek stone work surfaces and contemporary kitchen cabinets add the elegant touch we have come to expect from contemporary family living."

"We wanted the master bedroom to exude a sense of luxury, whilst ensuring we did not depart from a natural theme. The reclaimed shutters used as a headboard are one of my favourite features in the house, and setting them against contemporary painted furniture achieved the perfect balance we set out for. It works beautifully in terms of the style and the design scheme."

Buckton Fields is a collection of two, three, four and five bedroom houses, situated between Northampton and the village of Boughton. Set in the midst of pretty countryside, the homes reflect the local, traditional style of architecture. The plans for the site also include land identified for Northamptonshire County Council to build a primary school, subject to obtaining the necessary approvals and Martin Grant Homes has also committed to investing further money in nearby community amenities.

A Park and Ride service will offer a connection for residents into the centre of Northampton, three miles from the development. The newly refurbished Northampton station runs train services into London Euston from just 54 minutes and Birmingham New Street from one hour one minute. Junction 16 of the M1 is just over ten miles from the development.

Prices: From £299,950 for a four-bedroom home.
