Shared Equity Available At Chapelton Development

Posted 6 September 2022 by Keith Osborne

A Shared Equity initiative is helping people get a first foot on the property ladder at Chapelton, thanks to Places for People...

First-time buyer dreaming of owning a brand new home at Chapelton are being given a helping hand by major developer Places for People through a shared equity scheme which makes the properties much more affordable.

The vibrant new town is located just eight miles from Aberdeen and has been designed to offer charming and modern homes in a countrystyle that could be perfect for a first step onto the property ladder.

The award-winning community is offering a choice of two- and three-bedroom homes for sale through the popular Shared Equity scheme. These distinctive homes benefit from period features, modern open-plan living, spacious rooms and beautiful high specification interiors. With easy access to open green spaces, close-knit neighbourhood squares and local shops, Chapelton offers modern country living with everything you need close at hand. And Aberdeen’s bright lights are just a short distance away.

With the Shared Equity scheme, customers have the opportunity to own 100% of their home but pay less to do so. The buyer will fund between 60% and 80% of the price of the property with Places for People Scotland and the Scottish government financing the remainder. Priority will be given to customers who cannot afford to buy on the open market. To illustrate just how affordable the Shared Equity scheme makes moving to Chapelton, you could purchase a charming two-bedroom terraced home here from just £99 per week (subject to terms and conditions). There’s also a detached, two-bedroom property type available from as little as £129 per week (terms and conditions apply).

Another buy, Sam, said: “I didn’t know where to begin when starting the process of buying my first home. However, I was supported by the experienced sales team, who made the whole process of buying a home through Shared Equity very easy to follow.”

Kitti and Keith said: “The Shared Equity scheme offers an amazing opportunity for first time buyers and young couples like us to get onto the property ladder, keeping both our deposit and monthly payments affordable. Thanks to the team and this scheme — we’ve moved into our forever home.”
