The first powered flight in Britain was at Farnborough in 1908 by Samuel Cody. A high number of blue chip companies are based nearby including Nokia and Siemens boosting the average local income to £41,000.
The town is perfectly located for the London commuter with various routes into west and central London. Farnborough Main station offers services direct to London Waterloo (38 mins) with trains departing every 15 mins during peak hours.

Pinewood Infant school, Gange Community Junior School and Guillemont Junior school are among the most popular. Hawley Place School is independent for students three to 16-years-of-age. There is a Sixth Form College and the University of Reading is only a little over half-an-hour’s drive away.
