Housebuilder On The Benefits Of Buying A Show Home

Posted 22 September 2022 by Keith Osborne

Newland Homes explains the benefits of purchasing its fully fitted, ready-to-move-into show house in Claverham...

Should you buy the show home on a housing development? A quick search online will highlight there are many differing views on this. As the show home at its Court de Wyck in Claverham has just been released for sale, climate considerate developer Newland Homes helps to unpick some of these arguments once and for all.

The purchase of a new home is probably the largest financial transaction that most people will ever make and for those that have difficulty visualising from a floorplan, buying the finished show home helps a buyer to see exactly what they’re getting. But the benefits don’t stop there.

As the American business magnet Warren Buffett famously said: “price is what you pay, value is what you get.” When you buy a show home, not only will you be getting a fabulous home, but also you’ll benefit from the many upgrades a developer puts into the property to demonstrate its most luxurious products.

At Court de Wyck for example, the four-bedroom detached ‘Prestbury’ home has upgrades to the kitchen include quartz worktops, a large induction hob, double oven and the washing machine and tumble dryer are included in the sale. This is a ready-made home, with luxurious blinds and curtains provided throughout, as well as carpets, luxury Amtico flooring and tiled floors to bathrooms and the downstairs cloakroom.

The select roster of interior designers used by Newland Homes create schemes which are aspirational but liveable and aim to reflect the ambience of the development as a whole too. People who have moved into a newly constructed home are usually advised to pause before painting, as new houses need time to settle. Not in a show home however, as this process has usually taken place and the show homes are also maintained to a high standard throughout their life. In turn, this offers buyers a ‘turn-key’ purchase meaning they can move in and put their feet up.

As gardens are seen as an extension of a home, a show home garden is treated with the same attention as the interiors, and it’s not uncommon for Newland Homes to spend tens of thousands of pounds on landscaping and maintaining a show home garden, just like the one at Court de Wyck.

Marcus Evans, sales and marketing director for Newland Homes, debunks some of the most commonly voiced myths about buying a show home: “These properties are the jewel in the crown for any development. We often hear rumours that they are all show and no substance, but that’s absolutely not the case for Newland Homes. These are our showpieces; they are constructed to our exacting standards, have full warranties, and our teams keep them in tip-top condition. The show home is ironically the property that everyone wants to buy, but it’s the last one we as the developer want to sell.”

The ‘Prestbury’ at Court de Wyck has just been released for sale priced at £625,000 and looks out over open space and the Claverham May Day Field, a well-loved community space which holds village celebrations.

Each detached home at Court de Wyck has up to eight solar panels, making a significant contribution to the sustainable credentials of these homes. Homes also come with integrated eco-bins in the kitchen, to help facilitate new habits of recycling waste and where possible have rain harvesting water butts plus composter areas in the garden. Furthermore, car charging points for hybrid or fully electric cars are pre-wired for customers.

The show home can be visited by appointment from 11.00am to 5.00pm. Find out more at www.newlandhomes.co.uk.
