New homes round-up – the pick of current new build property in East Anglia

Posted 20 December 2016 by Ben Salisbury

The WhatHouse? team picks five of the best from a selection of new developments featuring new build homes from Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire

As Christmas approaches, prospective buyers traditionally put their house-hunting activities on hold while they enjoy the season's festivities – but, with the help of technology, there is a growing trend to continue the search between Christmas and New Year.

For many potential house buyers it makes sense to take advantage of time off work during "Twixmas" week to continue the search for their dream property from the comfort of their home, using information available online.

Last Christmas, Redrow Homes analysed their website statistics and found a surge in site visitors during the festive break over three consecutive Christmases.

For buyers planning to use some of their spare time to carry on their house search we have found some interesting new developments across East Anglia.

Aster Meadows at Kings Warren in Red Lodge, Suffolk (Crest Nicholson)

Aster Meadows (Crest Nicholson)Situated in the desirable village of Red Lodge, between Mildenhall and Newmarket, Aster Meadows is a collection of traditionally-styled detached, semi-detached and terraced houses and cottages set at the heart of the well-established Kingswarren community.

With an impressive array of amenities on its doorstep, including a village centre, a sports pavilion, a primary school and community allotments, these new homes are also in a convenient location. Both Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds are within easy reach by road; the A11, A14 and M11 are easily accessible; and Kennett Station is just a short drive away offering direct services to London Liverpool Street in under an hour, and Cambridge in half an hour.

Medieval Newmarket is the nearest town, and is the heart of the British horse racing world, with a great range of independent shops, cafés and restaurants along and around the popular High Street, plus a twice weekly market and regular farmers’ markets. And, for nature trips, the North Norfolk Coast is about an hour and a half's drive away.

Prices: From £200,000 to £295,000.
