Our first 2019 report on the latest news on launches, events and special offers for buyers of new homes across the UK...

If you have a New Year’s resolution to move to a brand new home in 2019, this week’s New in Brief is a great starting point as it looks at the latest launches, events and special offers for potential homebuyers at developments across the country. 


WEST MIDLANDS  

Just four apartments available at Worcestershire site – Anyone looking for an apartment in Cofton Hackett in the Barnt Green area of popular Bromsgrove in Worcestershire now have a choice of just four units at Foxhills, a development from CALA Homes. The remaining two-bedroom apartments have open-plan interiors, en suite master bedroom and Juliet balconies. Launch of first homes at Coundon development this weekend – Saturday 5 January sees the launch of a new development from Bellway, when it will be releasing for sale the first properties at The Hedgerows, located in the north-west Coventry suburb of Coundon. Prices will be revealed at the launch, which is taking place in Wyken at another development, The Brambles. The Hedgerows will be bringing 69 two-, three- and four-bedroom homes to the area, with a mix of terraced, semi-detached and detached units. Find out more at www.bellway.co.uk 


SCOTLAND 

Special offers at Robroyston development – Miller Homes is offering house-hunters some special deals at its Wallace Fields development in the northeastern Glasgow suburb of Robroyston. There is Part Exchange, and the housebuilder is contributing to LBTT or carpets on a range of high-specification houses. The five-bedroom ‘Chichester’ on Plot 64 is now for sale at £389,000, a saving of £10,000. Some four-bedroom houses now come with deposit paid, providing major savings: £14,800 on the ‘Glenmuir’ on Plot 95, £15,500 on the ‘Dale’ on Plot 89 and £18,000 on the ‘Teviot’ at Plot 118. Special offers at Cambuslang development – Miller Homes is offering house-hunters some special deals at its Newton Park development in the southeastern Glasgow suburb of Cambuslang, on a pair of four-bedroom ‘Hughes’ houses: Plot 96 is available with Part Exchange as well as carpets, an upgraded kitchen and selected appliances; Plot 122 also comes with an upgraded kitchen and appliances, as well as with Part Exchange and a contribution towards LBTT. The marketing suite has now re-opened Thursday to Monday, from 10.30am to 5.30pm. Find out more about Newton Park from Miller Homes 

Second phase to come at popular Glasgow site – With 85% of the first phase already sold within a few weeks of launch, Barratt Homes is planning to unveil the next batch of homes early in 2019 at Riverside @ Cathcart in the south of Glasgow. Part Exchange at central Scotland developments – Stewart Milne Homes is offering Part Exchange at developments across central Scotland, which can arrange two independent valuations to provide a fair market price for an existing property, based on it selling within 6-8 weeks. Some examples of developments offering this opportunity: Colinhill Grange in Strathaven, a collection of four- and five-bedroom detached family homes; Brackenhill Park in Hamilton, which includes the five-bedroom ‘Kingsmoor’ and ‘Malborough’ house types; Dargavel Village in Bishopton, with a range of properties; and Earls’ Green in Barassie, with five-bedroom ‘Southbrook’ and ‘Sandholme’ house types available. Find out more about Stewart Milne Homes  

Housebuilder offering incentives in an around Edinburgh – Anyone looking for a home in or close to the capital will find a range of incentives on offer at Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes sites around the city, including some special ones available to the end of January. The New Year deal, open until 31 January 2019, offers a range of money-saving extras worth up to 2% of the value of the house price on selected plots. The deal can include LBTT paid, complimentary flooring, or kitchen and bathroom upgrades, and is worth up to £8,000. Among the sites to consider are: Harwood Park in West Calder, with a detached four-bedroom ‘Fenton’ house on Plot 4 coming with upgrades including wardrobes to the master bedroom, bathroom and kitchen (worth £2,500), in addition to free flooring worth over £3,500; Langdale View in Kirkcaldy has two four-bedroom ‘Drummond’ house types priced from £265,995, currently available with up to £12,000 of extras and LBTT paid worth almost £3,000; and DWH @ Heritage Grange by Pentland Hills Regional Park, with a small number of three-bedroom townhouses from £299,995, available with upgrades to kitchens and bathrooms and free flooring worth over £3,500. 


NORTH WEST

Launch of new homes near Chester – Jones Homes has launched a new collection of homes at its Backford Hall development. Homes at this new phase, The Stables, are priced from £279,950 to £549,950, luxury homes within the outbuildings belonging to the historic hall. There are also four remaining apartments within the main hall, ranging from £320,000 to £450,000. In all, there are 45 new homes within the grounds, known as Backford Park, in addition to the conversion of a Grade II listed lodge on the edge of the development. The development is open to potential buyers from 10.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, and 11.00am to 5.00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Find out more about Jones Homes 

Incentives on selected plots at Lancashire developments – Kier Living Northern is offering Part Exchange and the government-backed Help to Buy scheme at on some properties at Alstan Grange, a collection of homes in Longridge, Lancashire. With the first of them available to move into from March, potential purchasers will be able to choose from a wide range, from two-bedroom bungalows to five-bedroom family houses. SOUTH WEST

Last homes available at Blunsdon developments – Linden is offering the final homes for sale at two developments in Blunsdon, near Swindon. At Abbey Farm there are a handful of four-bedroom detached houses. They come in different styles and prices currently start from £399,950, with the possibility of having Stamp Duty and legal fees paid. At the Linden Collection at Abbey Farm, there’s just one spacious four-bedroom detached home, priced at £449,950 with the possibility of having Stamp Duty paid. New show home as second phase takes shape in Bath – Hardrock Developments is overseeing the progress of its Holburne Park development in Bath, with 50 new homes in the second phase adding to the 60 created for the first phase. Among the properties coming is the Georgian-style three-storey ‘Coates’ house type, with four bedrooms, or the brand new ‘Finch’ design, also arranged over three floors. Currently for sale from phase one are two-bedroom, three-bedroom and a four-bedroom houses ranging from £525,000 to £955,000. Find out more at www.holburnepark.co.uk


NORTH EAST/YORKSHIRE

Assistance schemes offered at Kier sites across the region – Kier Living Northern is offering purchase assistance schemes such as Help to Buy and Part Exchange across many of its developments in Yorkshire and the North East. SOUTH EAST

Last home for sale at Kent site – David Wilson Homes has just one property left for sale at Preston Grange in the village of Preston, about eight miles east of Canterbury. New homes come to south Oxfordshire – Linden Homes has launched Sonning Grove, a new development in the south of Oxfordshire, just six miles from Reading. It provides a selection of two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes close to the amenities of the village of Sonning Commom, which include a pharmacy, supermarket, post office and two pubs.
