The WhatHouse? has taken a close look at some of the best new homes for commuters to Glasgow, suiting a range of budgets. 

As we discovered recently, there’s a host of reasons to consider buying a new home in Glasgow itself, but there’s also an easy commute from towns and villages outside the city. Combining an easy route to work or play, and having all the pleasure of countryside on the doorstep, makes for a great lifestyle for all types of buyer.

If a semi-rural life is for you, why not attend the Homebuyer Show Scotland in Glasgow on Saturday 19 October? Matt Colgan, the Show’s event director, comments: “With increasing numbers of new homes available throughout Glasgow and the commuter belt as well as some really exciting housing projects under way, the event aims to show homebuyers what is available to them – both old and new.”

In the meantime, consider some examples of new homes for sale just outside Glasgow right now: 

Mosswater View, Cumbernauld, Persimmon Homes – Prices range from £144,000 to £245,000 for this collection of two- to five-bedroom homes two miles from the centre of Cumbernauld and a short drive from the M80.
