Helen ChristieSituated in an exclusive gated community in Hadley Wood, Cockfosters, award-winning housebuilder Shanly Homes’ Manor Wood Gate is a collection of one-, two-, and three- bedroom luxury apartments and penthouses. Shanly Homes recently unveiled a stunning new show home at the development, which showcases the properties to their best.
Andrew Henry, director at Andrew Henry Interiors and responsible for designing the new show home at Manor Wood Gate, explains: “We wanted to create a modern home that was warm and inviting with a contemporary twist. The idea for the show home was to appeal to the stylish buyer, so we incorporated soft blues and some on-trend blush pink to provide warmth. The furniture tones were predominantly whites, silvers and greys which enhanced both light and space.”
Living Room: “Designed to make the most of natural lighting, the light and airy living area is the ideal space to wind down and take in the views of landscaped communal gardens. The focus features of the room are the sleek, contemporary sofas, with cushions that bring in accent colours of blush and grey. Added design touches including an eclectic mix of accessories and a statement, smoked glass finish light fitting that creates a feature in the room.”
Kitchen/Dining: “In keeping with the soft, neutral tones used throughout the rest of the apartment, the open-plan kitchen is fitted with stylish light grey cupboard units and trend-led marble quartz worktops. Complete with integrated Siemens appliances and under-cabinet LED lighting there is plenty of clever storage solutions in the kitchen area to maximise space. A glass, oval dining table creates the perfect finish, making a wonderful setting to host dinner parties.”
Master Bedroom: “Opulent blush tones were used to give the master bedroom a soft, feminine touch. A soft-pink upholstered headboard is the focal point of the room, complemented by velvet cushions and floor-length curtains. An elegant pair of white wooden bedside tables are punctuated by dark oversized lamps, giving the room a modern edge.”
Bedroom Two: “The second bedroom is designed to make the perfect accommodation for any guest. The statement upholstered blue and grey headboard in a Wemyss fabric creates a more masculine look to break up the room. Chrome lamps are hosted on a set of simple glass bedside tables, to create a sense of simplicity amid a collection of bold patterns.”
