WhatHouse? takes a tour of the contemporary show home at Beaulieu, a joint venture from L&Q and Countryside...

Located close to Chelmsford city centre, L&Q at Beaulieu is a large-scale development that provides a range of well-designed new homes.

Head of regional sales for L&Q’s Counties region, Andrea Palmer comments: “L&Q at Beaulieu is the ideal suburban hotspots for city workers, young families and first-time buyers looking to live in a flourishing community with excellent commuter links into Central London. We like to thank Inko Interior Designers, who did a remarkable job in creating a home that is visually creative and aesthetically complementary to the area and our new home owners. L&Q Counties are committed to ensuring everyone has a quality home they can afford and create homes and neighbourhoods everyone can be proud of.”

With interiors designed by Inko by Hatch, WhatHouse? takes a tour of the stunning show home…

Beaulieu (L&Q and Countryside)Kitchen: We took inspiration from the nature reserve surrounding the site for the design of this apartment. Within the kitchen this inspiration can be found with the natural materials used and key pieces featuring the local wildlife, such as the stag head salad servers.  Utilising space in the kitchen was key, the use of shelves, pots and trays allows essential kitchen items to be displayed in an artistic fashion.

Beaulieu (L&Q and Countryside)Master Bedroom: For the master bedroom we created a traditional country style with a modern twist. A bespoke buttoned ottoman paired with mirrored bedsides added a homely feel to the bedroom, where our unique approach to the feature wall that stretched across the ceiling to the other side of the room created a wow factor that would be memorable for buyers. Throughout the room there are also nods towards the history of the area with artworks featuring deer, map of Chelmsford and nature, as well as a colour palette that compliments the area.

Beaulieu (L&Q and Countryside)Second Bedroom: This bold bedroom design features blue leopard print wallpaper, geometric linen and a tassel ceiling pendant. The warm colour palette and brass accents gives the room a boutique hotel feel, perfect for a guest room. With the ample space that the room provided we included a ink blue desk and feature chair, creating the perfect space for guests or teenagers.

Beaulieu (L&Q and Countryside)Reception/Sales Suite: We had the task of designing this room so that it had two purposes, L&Q needed a base here as a sales and marketing suite, but we still wanted to show potential buyers how the room can be used as a reception.  We added two working desks to the area with a seating space that reflected a layout of a reception. With plush velvet feature chairs and a deep blue feature wall this first impression really gives a feel for the rest of the apartment. A lot of inspiration for the whole design of the apartment was taken from the local area, with local landmark artworks being used in this room.
