New Homes In North London: Millbrook Park Update

Posted 24 July 2020 by Keith Osborne

There are plenty of reasons for living at Millbrook Park, and an impressive range of new homes to choose from...

Millbrook Park is one of London’s larger development projects, bringing over 2,000 homes to a former military barracks site in a sought-after part of the capital in the borough of Barnet.

It’s an area that combines a pleasant suburban spirit with lots of green space, many great practical and leisure facilities, and some excellent public transport links into the city. By car too, proximity to the A1, M1 and A406 North Circular means the area is well-connected to other parts of the region and the country.

A number of housebuilders will be contributing their mix of homes here to bring together a diverse new community to include as many ages, lifestyles and budgets as possible, from young first-time buyers to growing families and downsizers.

There will be some six hectares of open spaces and parks, and there’s a new primary school and units for shops and places to eat. This is in addition to the area’s existing assets of highly regarded state and independent schools, sport and fitness facilities and major shops, including the Brent Cross Shopping Centre.

So, plenty of reasons to consider living there – and still an impressive range of new build homes to choose from.

Joseph Homes

No.1 Millbrook ParkWhatHouse? visited No.1 Millbrook Park last year and saw first hand the contemporary-design executive homes for sale there.

The company works to its own Live Well® philosophy of doing more than simply building homes. This has recently been recognised as Joseph Homes became the first UK housebuilder to be awarded B Corporation (B Corp) certification for their positive contribution to people, communities and the environment.

Company COO Paul Dipino said: “We are progressive thinkers who prefer to lead by action and example to inspire others to do the same. The Tramyard in Balham and No. 1 Millbrook Park in Mill Hill were successfully designed to promote healthier living through sustainable building techniques, all the way through to small but important details including the use of non-toxic paints that alleviate potential health issues. We will continue to deliver on our energy positive commitment as the planet is one of our most important stakeholders.”

There’s still a big range available at No.1 Millbrook Park, but with limited numbers of the three- and four-bedroom houses, priced from £939,995 and £1,249,995 respectively. Apartments with one bedroom start at £449,995 and those with two bedrooms start at £589,995, with anything under £600,000 available under London Help to Buy.

Barratt London

Ed McCoy, director of sales and marketing for Barratt London, commented: “Millbrook Park offers buyers the chance to live a village lifestyle next to the prestigious Finchley Golf Club, without sacrificing their fast commute. The site was originally developed for the army in 1905 as the Inglis Barracks, but military activity in the area ended in 2008, creating an opportunity for much-needed local housing, amenities, new parks and open spaces, including a primary school, public piazza and proposed new restaurants, shops and office space. We have experienced high levels of interest at Millbrook Park, particularly from commuters and young families who are looking for better value for money without leaving London, with prices at the development starting from just over half the Mill Hill average.”

Part of Barratt Developments, WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year 2019, Barratt London is building 345 apartments and 10 houses here, with a great variety of them available right now. There are units available over three apartment blocks starting at £378, 000 for a one-bed on the ground floor with utility room and terrace, and rising to £573,000 for a two-bedroom, two-bathroom second-floor property with a south-facing balcony. All these qualify for London Help to Buy.

If you’re looking for a house with a private garden, there’s one with one single and two double bedrooms, open-plan kitchen/dining/living room, an en suite, dressing area and balcony to the principal bedroom, and an integral garage. This is priced £982,000. Alternatively, the luxury of a three-storey home with four bedrooms (two en suite, with a dressing area bonus for the main bedroom), first-floor living room with large balcony, and an integral garage is on the market for £1.04million.
