Final Part Buy-Part Rent Opportunities At Home Counties Sites

Posted 28 April 2021 by Keith Osborne

The Home Reach scheme for first-time buyers is available on new properties around the South East of England...

House-hunters looking for a first step on the property ladder in the Home Counties now have a final chance to ‘part buy-part rent’ a brand new home at a number of developments, using the Home Reach initiative.

With Home Reach, a scheme run by housing provider heylo and a number of housebuilders across England, qualifying first-time buyers on a limited budget can purchase a share of their new home (usually 50%) and pay a subsidised rent on the remainder. It’s their home, but the process requires a much smaller deposit and mortgage than purchasing outright. They can buy further shares as their budget allows, until they own 100%.

In Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, is Linden Gardens, the ‘Hawkley’ is a two-double-bedroom apartment with open-plan kitchen/diner/living area, a family bathroom and built-in storage. The great specification includes an LED feature fireplace, integrated kitchen appliances including a dishwasher and washer/dryer and built-in wardrobes with sliding doors to bedroom one. This can be purchased at £115,000 for a 50% share, based on a full market value of £230,000. Find out more about Linden Gardens.

The range of properties available through Home Reach is not limited to the more commonplace idea of a starter home being an apartment or small house. In Banbury, at Waterside Place, the ‘Salisbury’ is a four-bedroom detached house that makes an ideal family home. It comes with open-plan sitting/dining area with French doors to the garden, a separate kitchen, some useful storage and a master bedroom with en suite and fitted wardrobes. The price is £162,000 based on 50% share of the full market price of £324,000. Find out more about Waterside Place.
