Home Of The Day – ‘The Prestbury’, Newland Homes

Posted 24 November 2022 by Keith Osborne

‘The Prestbury’ is one of the variety of property types for sale from Newland Homes at its Heron Rise development in Westbury…

The WhatHouse? team is always on the lookout for notable new homes among the many excellent developments currently on sale across the country, and this time we have picked ‘The Prestbury’, one of the properties available in Wiltshire from Newland Homes.

‘The Prestbury’ is the top-of-the-range new build home here right now, priced at £455,000. It’s a great example of the overall design of the development, which features its selection of houses and apartments in a variety of brick and render finishes.

With a nod to traditional local style on the outside, the internal design is thoroughly modern and matched by an impressive standard of specification. There’s a cloakroom and understairs storage off the hallway but the first main room is the lounge at the front, a spacious place to relax that comes with a feature bay window. The heart of the home is at the rear, an extensive open-plan space incorporating kitchen, dining, and a sun lounge with extensive glazing and French doors to the garden. There’s a handy utility room too, with its own worktop, sink, storage and door outside. Upstairs, three of the four bedrooms are doubles. Bedroom one comes with en suite shower room and the others can share the family bathroom. There’s more useful storage space off the landing too.

Heron Rise was launched this Spring and it will comprise 87 brand new homes, a broad selection from two-bedroom houses and apartments through to three- and four-bedroom houses. Newland Homes takes a ‘climate considerate’ approach to building homes sustainably, be it through conserving heat by maximising airtightness and insulation, or encouraging biodiversity through introducing RHS approved, bee-friendly planting schemes and hedgehog highways which enable hedgehogs to move freely in order to find food. Over 560 metres of hedgehog highways are being installed at Heron Rise.

These brand new homes are situated just a few minutes’ walk to Westbury train station and a number of useful shops. There are a host of useful things within a five-minute drive, including more shops and supermarkets, a number of schools, play areas, sports clubs and the A350 between Melksham and Warminster. The likes of Bath, Shepton Mallet and Devizes are around half-an-hour away.

Prices start at £200,000. Find out more about Heron Rise from Newland Homes.
