Home of the Day – ‘The Camden’, Strongvox

Posted 8 July 2020 by Keith Osborne

Our favourite new home for sale is ‘The Camden’, a house type at Russet Copse in Somerset from Strongvox…

The WhatHouse? team focuses on our current favourite new build home for sale – this time it’s ‘The Camden’, a four-bedroom house type at Russet Copse, a development in the Somerset village of Sandford from housebuilder Strongvox.

‘The Camden’ is a detached home with brick finish, slate roof tiles, sash-style windows and stone-effect porch, and it benefits from high specification and generous accommodation throughout, over two floors. On the ground floor the entrance hall leads to the living room, study, cloakroom, kitchen/dining room and under-stairs storage. The living room has double doors through to the impressive kitchen/dining room, which has eye-level double oven, a five-burner gas hob with stainless steel/glass splashback and hood extractor, and integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There are also bi-fold doors opening to the enclosed rear garden, as well as access to the utility room and side door.

On the first floor there’s an en-suite to the master bedroom, three further bedrooms, a family bathroom and an airing cupboard. A double garage and driveway parking are also included with this home, which is priced at £505,000.

Russet Copse is a great example of luxurious village living, a collection of homes designed with a nod to the established local style and located in a desirable location on the edge of the Mendip Hills. There’s an ecology zone around the perimeter of the site, and an orchard, and the site is particularly good for young families, as it neighbours Sandford Primary School (Ofsted ‘Outstanding’). Prices at this development currently range from £299,950 for a three-bedroom semi-detached house to £515,000 for the largest four-bedroom detached home.

Local features include a local shop, village hall, a range of schools for children of all ages, The Railway Inn gastropub, the Strawberry Line cycle path, Sandford Railway Heritage Centre and Mendip Snowsport Centre. From this semi-rural location there is excellent access to Weston-super-Mare (seven miles away), Bristol (15 miles) and Bath (25 miles).
