Home Of The Day – ‘The Cloisters’, Redrow

Posted 3 March 2022 by Keith Osborne

Our favourite house right now is called ‘The Cloisters’, one of the homes available at Redrow’s The Steeples in Oxford…

The WhatHouse? team is always scanning the new homes market for notable properties and we’ve found ‘The Cloisters’, a house type from Redrow at its development The Steeples, located in the Headington suburb of Oxford.

‘The Cloisters’ is available from £595,000 and adopting a contemporary approach to architectural design, it benefits from innovative layouts that have been designed with young professionals and modern family life in mind.

At the front of the property is the lounge which is illuminated by a large front bay window which provides a beautiful view overlooking The Steeples’ open green community space. To the rear of the property, an expansive open-plan kitchen and dining area spans the full width of the home, ideal for socialising. A separate utility and cloakroom also offer the advantage of keeping muddy shoes and wet coats out of the way – perfect for families with small children.

Upstairs, the main bedroom makes full advantage of ‘The Cloisters’’ spacious interior, spanning the full width of the property. Complete with a generous en suite and a fitted wardrobe, the room is perfect for homebuyers looking for an added touch of luxury. The second bedroom is generously sized and features a large bay window which allows ample light into the room. A spacious third bedroom can serve as either a children’s bedroom, wellness space or home office, which can also have the advantage of The Steeples’ ultra-fast, fibre-direct broadband. Also upstairs is the home’s large family bathroom, which offers the perfect marriage of style and efficiency.

‘The Cloisters’‘The Cloisters’ has been designed to save and reduce water usage, meaning homeowners can save money as well as the environment. Redrow’s standard specification, which uses water-efficient fittings and dual-flush WCs, delivers a design which outperforms the minimum standard by 16%, saving a huge 20 litres of water per person, every day.

The Steeples isn’t just a great place to live, it’s a great place to learn too. Families are ideally placed with a whole host of well-regarded schools nearby, including Barton Park Primary School, situated on the development, that has been built as part of the Redrow’s commitment to investing in the local area. For secondary age students, the highly regarded Headington Girls School and Oxford School, are both within walking distance of the development.

Sarah Boyce, sales director for Redrow Thames Valley, said: “We’ve received substantial interest in the new homes being brought to Oxford, thanks to the balance of town and country living and modern approach to architecture which Redrow is able to offer. ‘The Cloisters’ offers a superb balance between open-plan living – perfect for a growing family – and spacious retreats for time spent relaxing. Each home at The Steeples has an individual style and the option for bespoke finishing touches, meaning no two are the same.

The CloistersThere is already a thriving new community being established, supported by the creation of a new primary school, community pavilion and sports pitches, as part of Redrow’s commitment to the regeneration of the local area. With only six of these house types on site, each one facing onto green space – and just four left to reserve – we’d encourage those looking for a new home to book an appointment as soon as possible.”

Bordered by Oxfordshire countryside, yet with the culture, colleges and community of the city within easy reach, there is already a thriving new community being established, supported by the creation of a new primary school, community pavilion and sports pitches, as part of Redrow’s commitment to the regeneration of the local area.

The unique Steeples development is a commitment to creating a ‘21st century garden suburb’, complete with green space, new homes homes and a strong sense of community. The new neighbourhood is one of the most advanced NHS England and Healthy New Town demonstrator sites, with robust design principles in place to deliver infrastructure, which is supporting residents to live healthier, more active lives.

Prices at The Steeples start at £550,000. Find out more at www.redrow.co.uk.
