Home of the Day – The ‘Buckingham’, David Wilson Homes

Posted 21 August 2020 by Keith Osborne

Our favourite new home for sale is the ‘Buckingham’ from David Wilson Homes at Park Farm in Thornbury, Bristol…

The WhatHouse? team takes a close look at our current favourite new build home for sale – today it is a five-bedroom home type, the ‘Buckingham’, from David Wilson Homes at Park Farm, a major development in Thornbury, Bristol.

The ‘Buckingham’ on Plot 473 is currently one of the largest homes for sale at Park Farm, with some 2,140 sq ft of living space arranged over three floors. This one is at the end of a cul-de-sac overlooking open space, and has a natural stone frontage and a south-facing rear garden.

Into the large, welcoming hallway of this detached, double-fronted, five-bedroom and to one side is a dedicated home office, almost an essential to some buyers these days. On the other side is a spacious lounge. Past the downstairs cloakroom to the rear of the house where there is a large kitchen/breakfast/family room which comes with a utility room and has French doors out to the garden. There’s also a separate dining room which has doors to the kitchen and lounge, meaning the whole of the ground floor can be open, or rooms isolated as you wish.

On the first floor, the star of the show is the master bedroom, which has a dressing area and large en suite with bath and shower. Also off the landing are the family bathroom and two more spacious double bedrooms. On the top floor two more double-aspect double bedrooms, one of which comes with its own four-piece en suite. Complete with double garage and private parking, this house is on the market from £670,000.

Park Farm currently has a range of four- and five-bedroom homes available, priced between £480,000 and £685,000, some of which will be ready to move into by the end of this year. These new homes are surrounded by 27 acres of open space and are less than five minutes’ drive from Thornbury, which has a good variety of local stores, restaurants, pubs and the Ofsted-rated 'Outstanding' St Mary's Church of England Primary School. There are excellent road links to the M48, M4 and M5, and Bristol Parkway station is around 25 minutes away.

David Wilson offers a range of buyer initiatives, including those for key workers and former/current Armed Forces personnel. Due to increased demand, the housebuilder has extended its opening hours to Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 7.00pm, and Saturday and Sunday, 10.00am to 5.30pm.
