Home of the Day – ‘The Hillfield’, Bromford

Posted 20 July 2021 by Keith Osborne

We take a look at ‘The Hillfield’, offered through Shared Ownership at Bromford's Friars Gate development near Solihull…

The WhatHouse? team takes a close look at our current favourite new build home for sale – this time, it’s the three-bedroom house type called ‘The Hillfield’ which is available at Bromford’s Friars Gate in Blythe Valley Park, on the edge of Solihull.

Plot 97 is one of several opportunities to purchase ‘The Hillfield’, and this one is also Bromford’s Home of the Week. As a limited time offer on this Shared Ownership house, for reservations before the end of July 2021, the company will give the buyer £500 towards their legal fees.

Off the welcoming hallway is the fitted kitchen, which comes with plenty of storage and worktop and built-in oven, hob and extractor hood. Past the downstairs cloakroom and the dining/living room is at the rear of the home, with window and door to the turfed rear garden, and the door to a useful storage cupboard under the stairs. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, a single bedroom and the family bathroom. This house type comes with allocated parking spaces.

The price for a 40% share of ‘The Hillfield’ starts at £138,000 (based on a full market price of £345,000). This would require a minimum deposit of £6,900. Rent on remaining 60% share will be £474.38 pcm. Other monthly costs are the service charge of £21.42 and building insurance of £6.48.

With some delightful surrounding countryside, these homes are around five miles from the centre of Solihull and there are some excellent road links nearby, including the M42, M40 and A34. There are two railway stations in easy reach too. Birmingham International Airport is only 10 miles away. For families, close to home are schools such as Cranmore Infant School and, for the older children, Tudor Grange Academy.

Prices at Friars Gate currently start at £94,000 for a 40% share of a two-bedroom apartment (based on a full market price of £235,000).
