Home of the Day – The 'Folkestone’, Barratt Homes

Posted 18 February 2020 by Keith Osborne

The WhatHouse? team's current favourite new home for sale is the ‘Folkestone’ at Park Farm in Gloucestershire from Barratt Homes...

The WhatHouse? team reports on our current favourite new home for sale right now – today, we pick the three-bedroom ‘Folkestone’ house type at Park Farm, a Barratt Homes development in the market town of Thornbury, around 12 miles from Bristol.

Plot 427, is a great example of this home, which comes with two parking spaces. Downstairs, opposite the cloakroom, is a separate kitchen/breakfast room at the front of the house. This particular home comes with an upgraded kitchen worth £3,829. There’s a lounge/dining room with French doors to the garden at the rear, and it also comes with a handy and spacious cupboard under the stairs. On the first floor is the family bathroom, two double bedrooms, with an en suite shower room in the master, and a single bedroom that could alternatively be a home office. This house is priced £307,995 and will be ready to move into this summer.

Park Farm is a development which Barratt Homes is building alongside its sister brand, David Wilson Homes and is providing a whole range of homes in acres of open space. It’s just a mile from the centre of Thornbury, which has an array of shops and eateries, and – ideal for young families - is within walking distance of St Mary's C of E Primary School, rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted. There’s a bus service at this development, and it’s only a short drive to major road like the M4, M5, M48 and A38.

With Barratt, there’s a choice of three- and four-bedroom houses priced from £299,995 to £479,995. There’s a completely different variety of house types with two to five bedrooms from David Wilson, which are on the market from £262,000 to £650,000. Both housebuilders offer Help to Buy and other incentives.

The popular ‘Folkestone’ is also available right now at a number of Barratt Homes developments in this and other regions, including:

Northfields Park in Bradley Stoke, just seven miles from Park Farm, has a fully decorated and furnished ‘Folkestone’ show home that is well worth a visit.

Ladden Garden Village in Yate, Gloucestershire, where Plot 156 is priced £299,995.

Henbrook Gardens in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, where Plot 211 is priced £269,995.

Bird’s Marsh View in Chippenham, Wiltshire, where Plot 67 is priced £277,995.

Alexander Gate in Cobridge, Staffordshire, where Plot 73 is priced £175,000.

St Rumbolds Fields in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, where Plot 100 is priced £300,000.
