Home of the Day – ‘The Middlethorpe’, Allison Homes
The WhatHouse? team takes a close look at our current favourite new build home for sale – today it is ‘The Middlethorpe’, a five-bedroom detached home at Oakley Rise, an Allison Homes development in Corby, Northamptonshire.
‘The Middlethorpe’ on Plot 129 is actually Allison Homes’ Home of the Week, and anyone reserving this plot right now will get flooring throughout, turf, appliances and blinds (subject to terms and conditions). All this is included in the price, £335,995. It’s a double-fronted home is a style inspired by traditional local architecture – but with a thoroughly modern interior. Off the hallway to one side is the lounge, and to the other, the large, open-plan kitchen/dining room, which has a breakfast bar which nicely divides the function of each part but leaves the whole room ideal for family life and a social occasion. There are double doors to the rear garden from both these main rooms. There’s a downstairs WC, and a utility room which has its own door to the garden, great for keeping muddy paws out of the main areas of the house. Upstairs you’ll find the family bathroom, which comes with separate bath and shower. Three of the bedrooms are doubles, two with built-in wardrobes and the bonus of an en suite shower room to the main one. Finally, there are two single rooms, either of which would make a perfect home office. This property also comes with a single garage.
Oakley Rise is situated in the growing community of Oakley Vale with its sense of village-style living but with all the amenities of Corby just minutes away. Allison Homes is building homes with two, three, four or five bedrooms, with the current selection starting at £210,995 for a three-bedroom, semi-detached ‘Nettleham’ style.
Located on the south-west side of Corby, Oakley Rise is serviced by some of the best schools in Northamptonshire. In addition to all the leisure and cultural attractions Corby has on offer, Oakley Rise is close to a selection of tranquil lakes, rural trails and traditional pubs.
main roads and railways into and around the Corby area provide good access to nearby towns and cities such as Peterborough, Market Harborough and Kettering as well as further afield to London, Luton and Bedford. The town was named Britain’s number one ‘most thriving community’ in a report published by the Sunday Times in October 2019, cementing its status as a growing town.
