Henhurst Fields by Bellway – Show Home Room by Room

WhatHouse? takes a look at this executive five-bedroom show home in Burton upon Trent and discovers the inspiration behind each room…

The launch of the luxurious Harcourt showhome at Bellway’s Henhurst Fields development in Burton upon Trent means that potential buyers can now take a look around the spacious home and imagine themselves living in its glamorous surroundings.

Situated to the west of the popular market town Burton upon Trent, Henhurst Fields offers three, four and five-bedroom homes in the National Forest area, with picturesque views and scenic walks on the doorstep of the development.

Tamsin Billinghurst, from design company Claude Hooper, says: “Glamour and luxury are the themes running through our design for the Harcourt showhome at Henhurst Fields. Opulent accessories are paired with classic design throughout the home to create an air of understated and effortless luxury.

“Our design brief was to create a home that a fashionable, yet comfort-loving family would feel at home in, and we feel like we’ve achieved that with our scheme. We’ve kept the walls neutral in most of the rooms to create a relaxing atmosphere, but luxurious accessories and fabrics combine to give a glamorous edge.

Dining room: “The luxe burnished silver wallpaper is without a doubt the focal point of the dining room, providing the perfect counterbalance to the otherwise classic design. The deep hue of the wall perfectly sets off the other elements in the room – the ivory chairs, solid wood table and glamorous chandelier. It’s the ideal place to relax with friends or family, with the space lending itself perfectly to a large table taking centre stage."

Kitchen: “The kitchen has been most visitors’ favourite room of the house, with many of them falling in love with the bright, airy feel of the room. We wanted to make the most of the extra light flooding in from the skylight, so have kept all the colours light apart from the black granite worktop which provides a striking contrast to the white elsewhere. The tongue and groove cabinets give a very slightly rustic edge to an otherwise modern design."

Master bedroom: “The unusual four-poster bed has been a huge talking point in the master bedroom, and gives a modern twist to a classically designed bedroom. The luxurious fabrics on the bed are also welcomingly tactile – from shimmering silks and opulent velvets to fresh cotton. The colours are subtle but complement each other – soft grey and white are prevalent, but set off nicely by a brighter yellow cushion adding a pop of vibrancy. And the glamorous light fitting gives the bedroom a Hollywood edge – anyone sleeping in this room would surely feel like royalty."

Teenagers bedroom: “Our brief was to create a family home – so we designed this room which is perfect for a young teenager with its bright pops of colour. Candy pinks, burnt oranges and mustard yellows all combine to create a room which is perfect for sleepovers and girly hangouts, but the soft lilacky pink on the walls keeps the look understated and relaxing."

Bedroom: “This bedroom has been designed to appeal to the cycling fanatic of the family – with the theme extending from the monochrome wallpaper behind the bed right through to the accessories chosen for the windowsill and to sit on the bed. This room really shows how even small items like books can be used to bring colour into a room, with pops of yellow bought into the room via the covers of the books on the bed and the bedside table, and echoed in the softer yellow of the cushion on the bed.”
