First Release of New Homes at Cane Hill Park in Coulsdon

Posted 30 June 2016 by Helen Christie

Cane Hill Park is one of the most significant housing projects to take place in the borough of Croydon in decades...

Cane Hill Park is one of London’s biggest projects to transform disused public land, is set on the site of the former Cane Hill psychiatric hospital. The development, a joint project between Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes will feature 675 homes, comprising a mixture of houses and apartments, creating a new urban centre for Coulsdon.

David Wilson Homes has released its first allocation of four- and five-bedroom homes, as well as its three-bedroom Keats show home. A large number have been reserved already, and the house builder predicts it won’t be long until they are all snapped up.

Pam Reardon, sales and marketing director at David Wilson Homes, says: “Demand for new homes in this area is huge and while we expected homes to sell quickly, the official launch has surpassed all expectations.”

The interiors of the show homes at Cane Hill Park were designed by Andrew Henry and his team. When asked about the difference between interior design for a new build home and an older home, Andrew says: “It’s obviously great having a completely blank canvas and not having to strip through decades’ worth of questionable wallpaper! But the way homes are built now has changed so that factors into our design. House builders like David Wilson Homes know that open-plan living is incredibly popular so their homes have open-plan kitchen and dining areas at Cane Hill Park. Our job is to show people how you can use furniture and decorating techniques to ‘zone’ those spaces while keeping them open.”

All of the properties at Cane Hill Park have been designed with energy efficiency in mind and will include rooftop solar panels as well as an innovative waste-water heat recovery system, allowing homeowners to reduce their ecological footprint.

An ideal location for commuters, nearby Coulsdon South station offers fast train services into London Victoria in just 26 minutes. Cane Hill Park is also conveniently located for London Gatwick as well as being a short distance from the M25.

The homes at Cane Hill Park are available throug the Part Exchange schemes.
