Faircharm Dock by L&Q - Show Home Room by Room

WhatHouse? takes a tour of L&Q's contemporary show home at its Faircharm Dock development in Deptford...

Offering a selection of super-sized apartments on Deptford Creek, L&Q’s Faircharm Dock brings 127 contemporary homes available for rent to south London.

The collection of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments come with the peace of mind of renting from a trusted landlord and span across three blocks of up to 12 storeys, with upper floors offering unobstructed views across the east of the City.

Esther Jackson of Hatch Interiors talks through the design and inspiration behind the interiors of the penthouse-style, three-bedroom show home. She says: “Due to the location of the development, we wanted the industrial and warehouse style to influence the interior throughout the apartment. We have achieved this look by co-ordinating contemporary furniture with industrial accessories and statement lighting.”

Faircharm Dock (L&Q)Reception: For the open plan reception, incorporating the living, kitchen and dining areas, we aimed to create a youthful and stylish interior to tie all three together. We were conscious of creating a warm and welcoming environment, which is something that can prove difficult with large rooms such as this. By dividing up the areas and injecting a pop of colour, we confidently produced an exciting entertainment space for a wide target audience. By staging accessories in the same bold orange colour, mixing textured cushions and dressing the dining table, we achieved the industrial/loft living in a bold but simple way. Use of copper key pieces such as the coffee table trunk and statement lamp adds a bit of fun without losing the practicality of everyday living.

Faircharm Dock (L&Q)Balcony: The reception opens onto a large terrace, with views across South London. We have kept this area understated, bringing in a selection of planters and monochrome stools and tables.

Faircharm Dock (L&Q)Master bedroom: In the Master Bedroom we wanted to introduce texture through the use of different materials and surfaces. We styled warm wood furniture, concrete ladder shelving and marble lamps to draw on the use of raw materials within the overall build. We were keen to create a relaxing bedroom, with statement lamps, mustard yellow cushions and various tones of grey throughout the accessories.

Faircharm Dock (L&Q)Second bedroom: The second bedroom was designed as an office for the onsite sales staff, so Bedroom 3 was the next on our list. With the contemporary chevron design headboard in a brave and exciting colour, we were keen to inject a sense of youthful creativity in this room. We teamed the burnt orange velvet with geometric patterned cushions to achieve a bold and punchy interior. We co-ordinated the orange tones with the marble top bedside table to tie the scheme together. The industrial style lighting with exposed filament bulbs is an ideal way to create an effective industrial look. We dressed floating shelves with copper accessories, and completed the look with a stylish metal frame leaner mirror alongside an oversized floor lamp.
