Housebuilder Teams With RSPB For Staffordshire Show Home Garden

David Wilson Homes has designed its show home gardens at Bentley Fields in Uttoxeter with the local wildlife in mind.

Following a partnership agreement, the leading developer has worked in conjunction with renowned wildlife charity, the RSPB, to create nature friendly gardens at the development on Sorrel Close.

Features of the gardens include hedgehog houses, bird and bat boxes and many plants and landscaping features designed specifically to attract insects such as bees and butterflies.

David Wilson Homes has been partnered with the RSPB since 2014. The agreement is the first of its kind in the UK and aims to boost natural habitats at David Wilson Homes’ developments across the country.

Steve Barton, senior sales manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: “We have been working with the RSPB for over six years now and want to ensure that we’re doing as much as we can to retain and build upon the natural habitat around our developments. We’re really excited for our customers to see the new wildlife friendly show home gardens to show the potential we have as home owners to do our bit for the environment.

“Hopefully the new gardens will be teeming with life throughout the seasons and anyone that comes to see them will be able to pick up some great tips for their new home.”

Bentley FieldsBentley Fields is a development comprising 70 homes, with the remaining three- and four-bedroom houses ranging from £227,500 to £420,000. Just four of them will qualify for the current Stamp Duty holiday deadline, so house-hunters are urged to act quickly to secure one and thereby save money in their purchase. First-time buyers are also invited to ask about the new version of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme, which requires a deposit of only 5% of the property price, along with a 75% mortgage – so you can buy on a smaller income than you might think, or afford a larger home than you thought on the same budget.

David Wilson Homes also has a number of other live developments across Staffordshire.

Among them is The Village at Wedgwood Park, in the semi-rural location of Barlaston, just south of Stoke-on-Trent. This has been so popular that only five homes remain for sale here. This variety of two-, three- and four-bedroom houses are priced between £205,000 and £365,000. The Stamp Duty holiday applies here, and some plots are ready to move into and come with luxury upgrades included. The homes are set around attractive squares, courtyards and green open space, within an easy walk of the village, and on the doorstep of pretty woodland.

Additionally, house-hunters could consider Hallam Park & Darwin View in Lichfield, which while 80% sold out still has a number of two- and three-bedroom house types for sale, priced from £272,500 to £402,500. Some are ready to move into right now and come with a savings offer worth up to £10,000 (subject to terms and conditions). The development is surrounded by green space and overlooks open fields while being just a five-minute walk from Waitrose and 15 minutes on foot from Lichfield city centre. The M6 and railway station within close proximity make this a good choice for commuters to Birmingham and elsewhere.
