Special Ownership Scheme Available On Edinburgh Apartments
Backed by The City of Edinburgh Council, David Wilson Homes is offering a special homebuyer scheme called Golden Share to assist people who cannot afford 100% of a brand new home.
Golden Share is an affordable housing scheme which allows buyers who meet eligibility rules to purchase a new home at only 80% of its market value, and it is now available on a selection of two-bedroom properties at Cammo Meadows Apartments.
Potential purchasers must show evidence of a local connection, a need for a property of the size they want to buy, limited savings and an inability to finance the purchase of the full market value of the property. The current price limit for a brand new home under Golden Share is £214,796. It must be the purchasers sole and primary residence, so they are not allowed to let or sub-let the home without prior approval from the City of Edinburgh Council.
The sales process is similar to that for a standard house sale and the purchaser owns 100% of the property. When selling in the future, the owner gets 80% of the agreed price.
All homes have a great standard specification, and selected plots have private outdoor space as a garden or balcony. Inside, there’s an open-plan kitchen/living/dining room, two double bedrooms, off-hallway storage and a family bathroom. Secure bike storage is available for all residents. Among the current range of properties available through Golden Share, Plot 410 is on the second floor is offered at £195,200 (full price £244,000), Plot 388 is on the ground floor and priced £203,200 (full price £254,000) and Plot 396 is on the third floor and costs from £214,796 (full price £268,495).
There’s plenty of outdoor space right on the doorstep at Cammo Estate and Cramond Beach is just a 10-minute drive away. New cycle paths and walkways will be created throughout the development. Edinburgh city centre is six miles away and the M8 and M9 are within easy reach.
Prices at Cammo Meadows Apartments currently range from £195,200 to £322,995 and properties will be ready to move into this summer. A show apartment is launching this spring.
