New Residents Breathing Life Into Wood Wharf

Since completing in June, 10 Park Drive has welcomed its first purchasers of homes on the Canary Wharf estate...

Canary Wharf's newest district, Wood Wharf, is beginning to take shape with recently completed residential buildings to add to the newly reopened retailers, restaurants, bars and coffee shops on the wider Estate, creating a new community.

Since completing in June, 10 Park Drive has welcomed over 50 new residents to the area, as the first purchasers to live on the Canary Wharf estate, joining tenants of 10 George Street which opened in February and is managed by Canary Wharf's dedicated build-to-rent arm Vertus.

Only 70 apartments remain for sale at 10 Park Drive, a key part of the Wood Wharf masterplan. Internally, the apartments, designed by Make Architects, have been laid out to maximise the vistas of the surrounding views of the River Thames and Canary Wharf skyline. The fixtures and fittings have been chosen to echo the architecture of the building through the warmth of timber, elegance of porcelain and champagne metal detailing.

Purchasers at 10 Park Drive will also benefit from access to a number of first-class amenities, including a private Sky Terrace on the 13th floor, as well as access to the first private residential Third Space fitness club complete with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and fitness class studio.

Canary WharfA new collection of show apartments are set to open at 10 Park Drive in the coming months, with the remaining one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments available from £900,000.

Scheduled for completion in spring 2021, One Park Drive will further contribute to the Estate's fledgling population. The Herzog de Meuron-designed One Park Drive has a distinctive geometric façade formed by three unique typologies. The Loft apartments are located on floors two to nine, whilst the Cluster apartments form the heart of the building, located on floors nine to 32. Situated at the top of the building are the Bay apartments which all boast double-height terraces set back into the building.

Ranging in price from £825,000 to £3.9million the collection of 484 apartments at One Park Drive feature bespoke interior designs unmatched in the local area. The Cluster and Bay typologies have been designed by specialists Goddard Littlefair, with homes benefitting from elegant palettes and cool textures, including concrete walls, timber panelling, pivot doors and natural stone, all of which maximise the natural light captured through floor-to-ceiling windows. The Lofts are designed to connect with the surrounding waterways and green spaces, with expansive wraparound terraces framed by fluted terracotta panels. Each unit within this typology also features contemporary, free-flowing spaces, complete with sliding walls, cool resin floors and unique mother of pearl clad bathrooms.

Canary Wharf Residential is set to launch the final phase of apartments at the development in Q4 2020, with brand new in-situ show apartments soon to complete, which will provide prospective purchasers with a true sense of living in one of London's landmark buildings.

Canary WharfCommenting on the growing popularity of London's newest district, Brian De’ath, director of residential sales at Canary Wharf Group, said: “East London has seen a rise in popularity for a number of years and the gradual completion of Wood Wharf will only enhance its desirability. The regeneration of the east is helping to bring a new generation of purchasers to this side of London. Canary Wharf has long been a prime destination, so to now offer the ability to live here is a huge selling point for us."

Once complete, Wood Wharf will comprise of up to 3,600 new homes, around two million sq ft of office space, as well as 350,000 sq ft of retail fronting onto spacious high streets and boutique arcades. In addition, over nine acres of public spaces, squares and parks, including an impressive riverside boardwalk will bring a sense of calm in the inner city to the new district.

Residents looking to avoid public transport and use bicycles to travel across the Estate and wider city will be supported by the opening of over 2,000 bike racks and storage cages on Wood Wharf.
